Every time they lose the first game, there are always posts of "just like last year" or "trade everybody" or "fire everybody". Sometimes, you have to tip your cap to the opponent. I was pleased that the defense was tightened up, the play to get Azocar at home might have gone off course in the past. Also Webb seems to have figured himself out after a rough ST. Conforto might actually be playing healthy so if he was like first half of last year, he will be okay.
Miller mentioned yesterday that the umps were getting inconsistent after the fourth inning and particularly during the Flores at bat. The one thing that really bugged me yesterday was Yaz. I realize he is probably distracted with newborn but his approach felt like last year's timid "wait for your pitch" approach that the Kapler regime likes. Krukow feels Soler is out of sorts, kind of between speeds so they put him in the two hole to have him see more fast balls.

Wish I could have seen the game.
After the 1st inning, the game was blacked out here, and for the life of me, I can't figure out why.
I live 973 miles from SD, in SW Idaho about 12 miles from Boise.
Nine Hundred and Seventy Three!
When I called directv they said it was a local decision.
Huh?
When I lived less than 50 miles from SD a game was blacked out to start with. Not after 3 innings.
Now I'm concerned if I'll get any of the games!
