What ever the reason, he had to go.
Glad they had the guts to do it!
I didn't think they would because they are so stubborn!

I felt he was a poor man's version of David Eckstein or Craig Counsell when he was healthy. With injuries to both ankles, he pretty much cannot play in the field and they cannot hide him as a DH any longer if they want to use Joc more as a DH. He is sunk cost. In the Athletic, Grant Brisbee ranked each of the positions and none of the infield positions ranked higher than 17th in MLB and most were around 20th. I think they need at least one more piece for infield depth. the options at this point do not look too appealing (Belt, Longoria) but it would look very close to what I felt the 2023 team would look like at the end of 2022. So, if the offseason ended right now, it looks like a 79 to 80 win team and FZ has more work to do.

I don't really want either back.
I think we can do better and get younger, starting with Wade at 1B IF...IF we don't sign or trade for another 1Bman

They don't like Wade Jr's defense at first and as it is set up, they will mix and match with wade Jr, Flores, Villar, and Davis depending on the matchup. However, all of them are below average defensively and there are no natural first basemen coming from the minors. Belt would be a natural fit but getting him for 100 games is probably unrealistic. No one else has signed Belt so I would think the only ones who would be willing to take a chance on Belt would be the Giants.

Reed- I felt he was a poor man's version of David Eckstein or Craig Counsell when he was healthy.
Boagie- That's accurate. The problem is Eckstein and Counsell were already a poor man's version of a well-rounded ball player.
Before coming to us, La Stella showed almost no power, no plus defensive skills, no plus speed. He proved that again in a Giants uniform.

He had some good games against the Giants in the COVID year but that was the last of him. Even before he came to the Giants, he was one of the slowest players in the majors and was in the bottom 10% in arm strength. He is hard to strike out and likes to take walks so if the Giants want to complain about players not being athletic, this was aFZ signing.

Vosler had an .812 OPS, he should've had more playing time. Vosler just got DFA'd by the Reds. Might be worth looking at for corner infield depth. Supposedly, he had a good spring training but was struggling during the regular season.

Actually, I always Liked Vosler... but what ALWAYS concerned me was that in the Minors, he never really hit all that well.
I mean, in 258 plate appearances, he ONLY hit .210!
Showed some power in 17-18 & 19... but other than that... I mean, 2 freaking 10?
That's terrible!
But all that said, for depth in the farm, he might be worth it.
