Whether it's logical or not is a matter of perspective and opinion. I can see the logic in hating a rival of your favorite team. I hate the Broncos with a passion. Chiefs too. Dodgers and Red Sox. I can also understand why a fan wouldn't necessarily feel it's necessary to hate their team's rivals. It can go either way, IMO. I'm not sure I get expecting a player to forego income rather than play for their former team's rival, however. I used to feel that way though. I vowed never to root for Darrell Evans again when he left the Giants to sign with Detroit, and the Tigers weren't even a rival. I just hated him for shunning the Giants.

Rog -- By the way, the Giants have more players in the Hall of Fame than any other franchise, and one of the reasons is that they have picked up great players such as Snider, Warren Spahn, Steve Carlton and Gary Carter at the tail end of those players' careers. Dood - what does that have to do with being a true Giants fan? Rog -- Nothing. It wasn't meant to. It was simply a statement of fact. Did you know that the Giants had more Hall of Famers than any other team? There are quite a few Giants fans who don't. Now here is something that DOES have something to do with being a Giants fan. Do you think anyone who consistently posts here (where we talk about the Giants all the time we can get away from politics) is NOT a Giants fan? Dood - and there are quite a few non-Giants fans who know this also. I happen to be a Giants fan that did know it.
Now here is something that DOES have something to do with being a Giants fan. Do you think anyone who consistently posts here (where we talk about the Giants all the time we can get away from politics) is NOT a Giants fan?
Dood - there is only one regular poster (you) whose true fanaticism I have doubted on a consistent basis. To me you seem to be more emotionally invested in stats and sabremetrics. You are a fan of baseball but you get more of a thrill proving or disproving someone's opinion with stats than you do about a Giants playoff victory. The rest of us have shown true passion about the team at various times. You care more about numbers.

Have you seen me root for stats and sabermetrics to win games, pennants or World Series? I was a Giants fan about 40 years before I even knew about sabermetrics. You might want to use better judgment. Heck, have you even admitted you made a mistake about the Jackie Robinson retirement and apologized for it? That would be the right thing to do.
