Reluctantly, I have to admit I was likely wrong about both Ahmed and Bailey at the plate.
Ahmed does goofy nonsense with his hands, but he's proven to me that he's a better hitter than I've give him credit for.
He fights at the plate, too, which I love!
He's NOT as graceful fielding ground balls as Crawford was, but he's still pretty darned good.
He's shown me soft hands, above average range and even though some of his throws are iffy...He's done a solid job.
I want to see Luciano, but I seriously DOUBT that he could have made a number of the plays Nicky has.
Bailey just looks uncoordinated at the plate. Especially from the right side.
But he, too, is a fighter up there, and has shown more power than I believed he had.
Bottom line, I was wrong about both.
And that's a GOOD THING!
