I really thought...We would come out of the chute hot.
I really thought...our young pitching would struggle early
I really thought...We'd be more aggressive on the base paths, to include more bunting
I really thought...Soler would get off to a solid start
I really thought...Conforto would be the same putz he was last year.
I really thought...Wade would have at least ONE RBI by now
I really thought...Ahmed would have already played his way out of a job
I really thought...I really thought we'd be 7 - 6 after the 1st 13 games.
I think I should stop thinking!

Based upon what logic?
He has a tremendous on base percentage, When he's healthy he gets for power, Any place multiple positions.
That is not my definition of terrible

Firstly, he's only played 3 years; 21-22-23, and for most of 2022, he was hurt. Only 217 at bats.
The previous 2 years he barely had any at bats. A GRAND TOTAL of 95 at bats.
That means he's only played 2 full seasons.
Secondly, You're cherry picking your numbers. I prefer looking at the entire track record.
When healthy, he's averaged 17.5 HRs/year
His OBP last year was .373
Thirdly-Please don't swear. If you don't like my questions, just say so politely.
Now, All that being said, is he in the top 15 1Bmen in the league?
Of course not.
We knew that going in.
Is he a great, or even good defensive player?
Of course not. He's certainly no Brandon Belt over there.
But as far as power goes? Belt Only hit more than 18 HRs for us once.
When he was healthy, except for that one year with 29, he averaged around 18 HRs/year
Could we do better? Likely yes. But not with Farhan pulling the strings.
Wade fits what he wants; guys that can play more than one position.
And honestly, if you pair Wade's numbers last year with Flores, we got 40 HRs from THAT spot in the line up alone.
It's fair to believe we'll get about the same production again.
That you may not care for Wade is okay.
But he's far from terrible.

So if you're the general manager what would you do?
He hit over four hundred the last three games gets on base a lot and plays multiple positions
How was that a waste of time on him?
And tonight he hit the ball hard again.
If you don't like the guy just say so, but come up with some reasons why he's a waste of time because so far you've come up with none.

The Zaidi method is to get two halves to make a whole. So Wade + Flores gets 30-40 HR pop. The other platoon piece is Yaz/Slater. I would prefer the same guys in there every day but that's not how the current regime rolls. The two halves usually cost less than a single player playing every day.

Agreed.
I would rather regulars, too.
And Farhan SAYS he wants more of those type guys.
So far, all he's done is make Conforto an every day guy.
I like Wade. I see a place for him.
But we really need a good 1bman who can pick 'em like Belt did.
Wade will never be that guy. ' BUT, if he stays healthy and gives us 20ish HRs... that's okay.
And as you point out, that philosophy is not going to change with these clowns running the circus.

Exactly.I'd love to see 20 hr's from him. But as it is I'd rather let him go... but I don't believe he has any real trade value and there doesn't seem to be anyone in the pipeline any better than him right now. Yes, yes, I'm sure he is a wonderful person and teammate. Anyway..
