I really thought I could be patient and wait for this team to start to put things together and hit
And probably they will
But After watching this group take 8 strikes right down the heart of the plate I'm out of patience.
Not just any pitches but fast balls.
That is not the way I learned to play the game.
There are few inexcusable sins in the game but THAT tops my list!
If you guess wrong a couple times I get it
But eight times?
That's the crap we did under kapler
I expect better from this group.
I really do and so should everyone

Similar tendencies to last season with losses to teams with losing records, lumbering on the basepaths, home run drought, crap bullpen, poor defense. Its a small sample size but its getting concerning.

I was thinking of posting the same thing, which I was alluding to in this post.
I thought this season would be different. I really did.
NEW manager, many new players... same old crap.
12 games IS enough to get a general read on a team.
I don't see ANY OTHER team committing the same repeated sloppy base running that we do.
THAT is a coaching is, AND a player mentality issue.
They were allowed to get away with it with Kapler, NOW, they must be held accountable.
But they won't be.
We pamper players these days.
Have for the past 25+ years.
Big, over paid, spoiled babies.

I probably would have gone with a bigger purge in the offseason and would have jettisoned the hitting coaches and Nakken, and would have considered moving guys like Yaz, Slater, and Wade. I like Yaz and Wade but realistic enough that they probably would not be part of the team when it become successful. Tyler Rogers also. All of the named players were arbitration eligible so they could have just got rid of them. Problem is, the guys we would want up in their place such as Matos (hitting about .200) are currently struggling also. Luciano is hot right now. I think they are hoping Yaz plays himself into shape given the lack of left handers in the system.

They are just soooo bad...
Glad to have a regular baseball guy as manager but Melvin isn't so hot either... meh!

We all discussed this a lot in the off-season and the names you mentioned.I wanted to get rid of also And that female in the Dug out has no business being there I said this last year. There is nothing she can teach me his guys, Nothing she can show these guys, Nothing she can share with these guys to make her a coach on the team. And the way nick is hitting the ball, The guy I still consider an automatic out, Isn't going anywhere for a while regardless of how well luciano does He appears to be one of bob's favorites

Playing in Arizona is like a mini-Coors. Not as high as Denver but 1000 feet above sea level. During spring training, hitters get used to it but when they get back down to sea level, pitchers regain their advantage and hitters cannot adjust. So that is one of the reasons why they are struggling to hit up and down the organization.

I don't doubt you are correct, Reed, but this nonsense has gone on for 13 games now.
That's 2 baseball weeks.
Last night they looked like they were suffering from severe jet lag. They were sleep walking their at bats.

Reed- Problem is, the guys we would want up in their place such as Matos (hitting about .200) are currently struggling also. Luciano is hot right now.
Boagie- Matos earned the chance after the way he played at the end of last season, I don't care what his numbers are right now, he does things to impact games.
This is what I was talking about during the offseason, bringing in these veteran players would only logjam these kids back into the minors and we'd play half-hearted, veteran baseball. Pulling up short on short fly balls, playing the ball off the fence rather than trying to catch it, and a station to station offense. It's boring to watch, and it doesn't put any pressure on the other team.
They started Fitzgerald in CF to give Lee a day off on Wednesday...what does he do? He gets three hits, scores twice, drives in one and steals two bases. That's the kind of stuff I want see out of our players. Aggressive baseball, putting pressure on the other team.
Farhan ruined Bart, and now he's ruining Matos and Luciano. I honestly hope when we play Pittsburgh, Bart goes off. I hope Crawford and Davis do the same when we play against them.
Farhan is a joke, he needs to go.

I would love FZ gone but he seems to be favored by Baer and Johnson. They are the main problem.
