Most of you likely saw this today, but I'm posting it for anyone who didn't.
www.nbcsportsbayarea.com/mlb/san-francisco-giants/farhan-zaidi-mum-gabe-kapler-returning/1658423/
I see this as potential good news.
Sounds as if Farhan is not 100% sold Gabe coming back.
I may be reading into it, but it 'sounds' as if he realizes part of he problem is that Kapler has control over nothing.
Time for a change, pahdnah...time for a change.
If Bob Melvin is available, I'd like him.
He had little to work with in Oakland and did quite well.
I'm betting that with an influx of talented kids, he'd do a LOT better!

I would be a little cautious about Bob Melvin. While he is a smart guy, he did not figure out how to use a lineup with Soto, Snell, MAchado, Tatis, Hader, and so forth. That is a loaded lineup that underperformed for one reason or another. It might have been Melvin but it also could have been bad chemistry, meddling from GM, etc.

GK did address the media and seemed to accept a little of the blame, “I think we can do better, and that comes from every corner of the clubhouse and we have work to do in that regard. There is always room for improvement, but Logan’s words were strong, noted and, as I mentioned, agreed with by everyone here. … We all have responsibility to raise the bar to the highest possible expectations, to not accept losing and expect to win every night and to go quickly back to make adjustments and we haven’t met that standard.
“What leads to a championship mentality is preparing relentlessly for every game and when that preparation isn’t leading to success, tweaking that preparation to lead to success.”I think he was diverting a little bit because earlier in the week he called out Haniger's ineffectiveness and he does not admit to any failure of the analytics or his leadership (or lack of). Thanks to Logan Webb for calling the team out. Only three more days of Pusoy left. www.msn.com/en-us/sports/mlb/a-filipino-card-game-may-have-helped-derail-the-giants-season/ar-AA1hmm5n#image=AA1evkSv|1

It might have been Melvin but it also could have been bad chemistry, meddling from GM, etc. And neither did any of his predecessors. They have an ego problem in San diego, and that's not something any manager could beat. You can't have a team full of superstars each go on their own Direction, and I think that's what San Diego has and did.
