Twice in the past month Randy Winn has said the reason this team CHOKES in the clutch, (he didn't use that word) is the approach that Kapler and the staff wants.
Richie said the same thing.
Kapler and his staff preach that K's are okay... wait for YOUR pitch and hammer it.
3 Years ago I disagreed and said, K's ARE NEVER ACCEPTABLE with RISP.
They will happen, yes, but if you're wailing away from the heels, as we do, that is a foolish, self defeating way to go about your business of being an RBI guy.
Richie said that that philosophy was only successful in 2021 and has failed in all of Kapler's other seasons.
But the bat on the ball with RISP is what Randy says, and I totally agree!
If your philosophy has failed 3 out of 4 seasons... doesn't it make sense to change your philosophy?
I guess not.
To me, what Kapler is doing is the definition of Insanity. You know, doing the same thing and expecting different results.

FZ is not totally on board with this approach. He prefers them to be more situation oriented and not hack away all the time. This is a point of difference between FZ and Kapler

Remember , in Philadelphia, he had a loaded lineup and only got to .500.

I, for one have not forgotten. But it seems ownership is still looking at that 2021 season and not paying attention to the other three that didn't work.
I mean, think about it; any other team that has had three or four Bad seasons with the club usually as a team getting ready to change managers. But instead we're bringing hours back!
Like I said in another thread, why would any hitter want to come to our ballpark, to our team, knowing they're likely to be platooned?
And GK has had two weeks now the whole lineup intact and other than that one five games spurt we haven't done squat

That’s why I brought up Chaim Bloom in another thread. He’s FZ-east coast. The way Bloom and Zaidi work is almost identical and the thing that set them apart is that BLoom traded Betts to the Dodgers. Otherwise, they are the same. Kind of pathetic in the way that they are both run by the same metrics and so predictable.
