Reed and boagie are right; you do NOT care about winning. It's all about bringing in paying customers who have been DECEIVED into thinking we'll have a chance to win.

It’s more like they will pay just enough to be the sixth best team in the NL and then take their chances in the playoffs. The better strategy is to spend to be the third best team if they are truly serious.
By the way, the Mission Rock Project is not designed to support the Giants because there are many silent partners involved. It might pay for one player at most while the rest of the money goes to investors. Voters were misled because they were led to think this would benefit the Giants. I wouldn’t have voted for it if I knew then what I know now. Just to line ownership pockets, its a logistical nightmare in the area with traffic and parking issues.
