Why does Farhan think everyone elses sh*t smells better than his own? Why trade for MathiASS when Fitzgerald is tearing it up in AAA? Why even trade for Pollak , when you have a former #1 draft pick in Ramos who was playing well? Why all these ridiculous waiver pickups when our players in the minors deserve a chance?
Now granted guys like Villar and Schmitt havent lived up to expectations, but neither have any of these shitty pickups by Farhan.. Our guys who have worked hard deserve the first crack and not some retread..Farhan is killing this team by a million deaths

Nice to hear from you, Mordy! Been a long time!
You are truly singing my song! I think FC is just about as bad a general manager since Tom Haller that I've seen! He thinks he's so stinking smart but he's not, and he proves it every single season!

And in my opinion, he started his run of stupidity when he hired Gabe Kapler!

Nice to hear from Holiday613. Man has truly valuable insight.
The reasoning behind Mathias was that he had some experience playing in August and September. However, this guy is at Donovan Walton level and should not be on anyone's 40 man roster.

To me it's just fz thinking he can get by, again, on the cheap.
It is also him thinking he is smarter than everyone else looking to find another gem in the trash can

Bill James is the root of a lot of it but James has written a number of articles about the limitations of statistics and for people to not become arrogant with the data. James has warned that context is important. In fact, James has retired from the game and one of his ideas to use relief closer in high leverage situations backfired for the Red Sox. He has also made some questionable comments about the Dowd Report (since refuted by Pete Rose himself) and the Penn State situation. The guys who are to blame for a lot of the sabermetric explosion are Beane, Tampa Bay Rays, Craig Wright, and Baseball Prosprectus. A lot of this information is easily available on the internet so there are really no trade secrets anymore. Baseball Prospectus bothers me a lot because they use multiple methodologies. The Players Union has warned their members about being careful when using the statistics because there are numerous versions of WAR and Vorp and teams could pick and choose which version to use to fit their narrative. If a player's contract is tied to WAR, a team could essentially choose which WAR to use to suppress a player's earnings. Also, since the internet spreads methodolgies a lot faster than before, trade secrets are usually not secrets for too long. That is why Beane was successful at the beginning of Moneyball but lost his edge when everyone else copied. The guys running around with ipads in their hands are mostly ex-jocks who worship at the feet of information but lack the discernment to know when to reject. When it gets down to the player level, all the information probably is going over their heads.

It is also him thinking he is smarter than everyone else looking to find another gem in the trash can i think a lot of MLB has caught on to what FZ was doing in the past and are copying him so he no longer has the edge. Early on, he found Dickerson, Gausman, and Yaz but no true diamonds in the rough after that. The best thing he should do is to trust his own organization and improve from within. For every Yaz he's found, there were a dozen Padlo and Papierski types. Also, he gave up too quickly on Connor Joe. The Pollack trade doesn't hurt because its for PTNL but the Prelander Berroa for Walton trade may prove to be costly.

Meckler and Fitzgerald are having terrific seasons in the minors and the season would be more of a success to me if we see more from our youngsters rather than to use our veterans to make a push for the third playoff spot. Unfortunately, the guys who make the most money will be the guys who play more. They should have given Mathias' spot to Fitzgerald who is Rule 5 eligible after this season. Fitzgerald may or may not be better than the guys they've ran out there (Diaz, Wisely, Schmitt, Villar, and Mathias) but at least they can take a look.

At least we cut Diaz. He was an absolute waste of space.
And I agree, Reed, MLB HAS grown wise of what FZ does.
Now, like a slumping hitter, HE NEEDS TO ADJUST!
But he won't.
Like Woke Kapler, HE truly believes he knows better than everyone, and I'll be he simply won't listen or even consider, other ways of doing things.
He and Kaptain Ego deserved each other...Put them on someone else's team.
I, for one, have had enough of their crap.
And, IMHO, Bochy PROVED without a doubt, how much better he is than KE

You don’t want to know what I was hoping for when they went to Mexico City. As it was GK got lost exploring the city. Unfortunately , he eventually found his way to the ballpark 😩
