All year long we keep hearing about what an ace Logan Webb is, but that's not what I'm seeing.
Is he having a decent season yes he is. Is he pitching like an ace? No he is not and has not all season long except for the odd start here and there.
Anish does not give up a five spot in the first inning, and first Innings continually are a problem for him.
I like Logan Webb, I think he's a very good pitcher, and for our team he's an ace. But he is not on the same level as Kevin gausman and Aces on other teams. He just isn't

I see him as a pitcher who can give a team 7 innings and keep an ERA in the mid 3's. The way we define an ace in the old days no longer exists because of the way baseball managers currently use pitchers. I do not see him as a lockdown pitcher like Gausman or Rodon. What you see is what you should be expecting. He's probably going to be our All-Star representative unless they choose Doval, Thairo or Wade, mainly because each team needs a representative and because of name recognition.

I would agree with you, Reed.
He's a solid 7 ip guy with a mid to low 3 era.
I like Webb a lot... and I mean a LOT!
I'm just sick and tired of everyone calling him an "ace," because my definition of ace certainly is NOT today's definiation.
Gausman... ace.
Rodon... yeah, I hate to admit it, but ace.
NOT having Gausman still with us, for ME, will always be a black mark on FZ as a gm.
This isn't the first pitching goof he's made, and even though I agree about giving stupid-long contracts to pitchers... he blew this one big time!
