Once again, I didn't see that win last night coming, and for many reasons:
1-Sooo many kids playing due to injury
2-Bullpen game.
3-Wacha has owned the Giants
4-We've won so many in a row I feared a mental let down.
Talk about being nicely surprised! I sure was!
Nice to see Villar launch one. I ALMOST POSTED before last night's game that, based upon what I saw in LA...he might be back in the groove.
Something in his swing down there... something in his demeanor... something I saw in the way he walked up to the plate.
Sure hope HE starts pounding the ball again because he's got good power!
Also, I've liked his defense at 1B MUCH better than at 2B or 3rd.
Maybe moving Flores is still in the cards.
I know if I'm the GM... I'm investigating interest because I think Wilmer packaged with a lesser kid could get us a decent pitcher... Stroman maybe? That would be nice.

Yesterday three kids came up big Matos, Bailey, and Schmitt two of them drawing walks.

And on Monday night Matos and Bailey hit fly balls that manufactured the tying run. Matos' at bat specifically impressed me.

Good to see some Wally Pipp action.

Matos might not be hitting for average nor power just yet, but I agree with both of you; he's been impressive!
And, I'd be willing to go out on a limb and say that when he starts to hit, not if... when, he will be patrolling CF for years to come.
And these kids are great examples of why NONE of us wanted to sign a big name like Judge nor Correa

Unfortunately, I was one of the ones who wanted one of those big name players but it’s better for them to develop their own players.
I thought Correa may have been snapping out of his funk a week ago but he’s struggling again. Bogaerts and Swanson are having decent seasons but definitely not worth big money. Only one who has lived up to the money hype is Judge.
Looking ahead to next year, they will probably go after Ohtani if only to drive up the price for the Dodgers and others but should concentrate on pitching upgrades in free agency and the upcoming draft and international selections are going to be important to restock the farm system (due to graduation)
