IMHO, Estes rarely has anything to add to a broadcast from the studio or the booth.
Randy Winn has many incites, as does George Kontos.
In fact, IMHO, Kontos is the LEAST afraid to say something the players/management won't like.
I admire that.
For my ear, he seems to on point with pertinent things a large majority of the time.
Laura Britt, based upon the way she dresses, more interested in being a fashion statement than a good host.
IMHO, she is THE WORST female host, IMHO, we've had.
Javy Lopez... is, well, okay in the booth.
But if Kruk retires, and HE takes over? Sheesh! Will I be disappointed.
He's better than Mark Grant... but then, who isn't.
I like Rich Aurilia... but, IMHO, he doesn't add as much insight as Kontos.
Carlos is too hung up in metrics, and talks like, because he knows numbers, HE KNOWS the game.
From what I can gather, he never played. And since he never played, He doesn't.
And though I like him as a host, his incredible bias for Latin players gets in the way of good reporting.

They seem to be grooming Estes, Lopez, and Joe Ritzo (San Jose Giants) to take over when Krukow and Kuiper retire. Krukow and Kuiper are taking about a month off coming up and it will be interesting to see who fills in the slots then.

I am REALLY sorry to hear about all of what you said!
Why in the world would they take time off DURING THE SEASON?
That makes zero SENSE!
They have from September to April to vacation.
And if we get stuck with either Lopez or Estes... watching and listening any more simply WILL NOT be any fun.

I think I didn't hear correctly, they would not be making trips so a lot of broadcast would be done remotely. Flemming, estes, and Javy to fill in. Their health is making it difficult to travel, particularly for Krukow who is having progressive muscle weakness.
Joe Ritzo seems like a good play by play guy but commentary is going to take a hit.

Flemming and Lopez would be my choice moving forward.

Dave Flemming I like, and Javy is.... well, okay.
Sure better than Mark Grant! But I think we can do better.

Ritzo, Estes, and FP Santangelo went to Milwaukee. This gives an indication of Kruk and Kuip's health problems because Kuiper always likes to go back to Wisconsin (where his father used to own the family farm) and buy his Kringles. Even though, the family sold the land, that was always a must do trip for him. Next guys up will probably be some combination of Ritzo, Estes, Lopez, Santangelo, and Flemming. Estes seems pretty involved with his family in Arizona so I can see Estes not being a part of the regular team.

There was an internet rumor stating that Kuiper would retire after the season but Krukow said it was false. Krukow did mention that when they eventually hang them up, both will retire at the same time.

They better not retire, because I'm not ready for replacements. No one is as good as these two.
