With Apologies to the Electric Prunes

Many/some of you may remember the song "I had too much to dream last night," by the Electric Prunes.

1 hit wonders for sure.

But when I think of La Stella and now Longoria not coming back, I find my self remembering a few lyrics right before the chorus:

"...Gone-gone-gone..."

I really didn't think FZ and management would have the guts to do it, but they did.

And I am so glad.

Longoria seems to have a role on the Arizona team as sort of a mentor. I believe he wore out his welcome in San Francisco with his casual approach to rehab during the 2021-2022 off season. I'm pretty much indifferent. Longoria was a contributor when healthy but he was healthy in less than half the games last season. Even though he made tweets to the contrary, he seemed like a guy who would rather be elsewhere.

Not keeping Longoria and La Stella is only good if there are more moves to be made but I get the feeling that they feel they are done. I think there is more work to do and I think we are at the point where they feel their solutions will be made internally.

I read something by FZ where he said he still had a few moves to make. Let's see what they are.
