While there is no shortage of the blame game,I think one of the biggest contributors to this seasons dismal performance was Zaidi.. I fault him for thinking everyone elses garbage smelled better than his.. Instead of going to the waiver for marginal players like Prado etc and yanking players hp and down after short spurts, he should have gone to guys kike Villar first and the team would have bettered themselves much earlier and saved ton of transactions.. I have many more examples but i wont bore you with the details..
Hope Farhan and company learned their lesson..Put faith in your own players first!!

He had an exit interview with Tolbert and Copes on knbr.com and he was saying they needed cornerstones in the middle of the lineup and not the margins. Actions this past summer was on the margins so I think he's blowing smoke until I see otherwise.

I'm with you! As you pointed out in a recent post, Bloom is doing the same thing, as well as other team other team management leaders.
I've gotten to the point that I don't trust a guy, which is where I was when we 1st hired him.
As I've posted multiple times, I would give him 5 years to prove himself. And I think this year coming up is number 5

When I listened to that exit interview, Farhan said all the right things like the need to get more athletic and to have the minor leagues produce 2 or 3 good players every year and yadda yadda. The thing I did not hear was for him to have any accountability such as apologizing for miscalculation or for the failure to prepare adequately for 2022. The fact that he re-signed Wilmer Flores and is re-negotiating with Longoria is very worrisome and goes against the stated goals. Boly and I feel that FZ will say Flores is a good deal, Longoria is good value, Belt is cheap for what you get, and then bring them all together and run it back again. Of course, they are good deals individually but when brought together to be cornerstones, it is a really bad idea. Greg Johnson (CEO) says FZ will have the resources to do whatever it takes and Baer penned a lengthy and apologetic note to the fans so it looks like it will be on FZ.
Boly and I feel that FZ is a plodder and that article about Chaim Bloom sums it up. The easiest thing to do is to say no or do nothing (status quo). They have to do most of the heavy lifting by December. I have heard that the GM might be selected within the next week or two so that is a good start.
Estes' take on the hot stove is to not expect Judge, not expect Rodon, and not expect Joc.

This is a little thing I copied from someone else's post: (WAR and salary) Note: Aaron Judge had something like 10 WAR by himself and the comparison is horrific.
Descalfani -0.8 $12M Crawford +0.6 $17M La Stella -0.7 $5M Belt +0.4 $18.5M Wood +0.2 $12.5M Longoria +0.7 $14.5M *McGee -1.1 $3M *Ruf -1.5 $2M -2.2 $84.5M
These (8) players combined for -2.2 WAR
These players earned a combined $84.5M, which was 50% of the 2022 payroll of $168M
*Giants paid while on the 2022 roster

I'm not sure if a new GM would re-direct the team but I want a guy who will stand up to FZ and not do chit-chat texts about marginal guys at 3AM.

I don't see Judge coming here, and certainly NOT Rodon.
