Ah, yes. The more things change, the more they remain the same.
This team has been consistent, and we saw more of that last night as we couldn't do squat against a very below average pitcher, Manea, and his 5.15 ERA.
I don't know why I still care, but I do. It is still hard to watch Yaz flail away, looking more than a little clueless.
It's painful to watch Bart try to yank and pull everything.
To watch all of our hitters take pitches down the heart of the plate and chase crap up and out of the strike zone.
Like I said, I don't know why I care.

Manea has bad numbers but is not a below average pitcher. the Giants are going through the motions at this point and the Padres need to get a head of steam going into the playoffs. At this point, it is understandable that the Giants' heads are not in it. Probably more worried about who was going to end up with Longoria's tee times.
We are at #162 so they will likely want to see whoever they can.

Coming into the season, I agree, he was a very good pitcher.
But when you're sitting at game 161, and you have earned run average of 5.15, that means you have not been very good this season. And thus my comment.

Manea had three really bad games against the Dodgers accounting for about a third of all of his ER (23). If you remove those three games, his ERA becomes decent.
