Dont look now but Joey Bart and David Villar are two of the strongest bats in our lineup lately. Interestingly, both were yanked around without getting the proper time to adjust to the big leagues.. We have some legit talent in the minors but are overlooked by Farhan when he went to the garbage dump to pick up the latest crap found on the waiver wire. Hopefully this will serve as a wakeup call to Farhan to trust his players in the minors.. I can mention a few interesting names if you guys are want esp in the bullpen dept.. No freaking way the team had a right to go with so many arms with 4+ ERA's.. Shame on the Giants and a real middle finger to the fans..
PS.. Someone should tell the geniuses Kapler/Farhan that bullpen games are an atrocious idea when you feature one of the worst bullpen in the game. DUH!!

I don't think those two Clowns listen to anyone, Holiday.
They've got their minds made up about sabermetrics and nothing and no one can say anything to change their minds.
As I continue to say; they both always think they are the smartest people in the room.

Hopefully the release of Leone signals the end of the “run it back” madness. They also DFA’d Mercedes and Knapp so I think they’re finally taking out the machete.

Too late for that but better late than never I guess.. We all saw it from the onset but the geniuses who get paid the big bucks didnt.. Strange..

Too late for that but better late than never I guess.. We all saw it from the onset but the geniuses who get paid the big bucks didnt.. Strange.. Farhan has an MIT degree in public finance and econ so he's not stupid. Even though the upper management said that he was free to do whatever he wanted to, that was probably a mis-direction. It was probably upper management that instructed him to go after Soto and try to run it back at the trade deadline. To me it seemed strange that a guy who is supposed to be smart and fixated on statistics suddenly throws it all out the window. The trade deadline moves seemed more the behavior of Larry Baer than Farhan so I figure he became ownership's stooge. Susan Slusser has reported that La Stella might be gone, also. They are not going to DFA him immediately after the season and I think the plan is to string him along and use him in 2023 if an injury pops up but at some point, the roster spot becomes more valuable than a .240 hitter who is making $11 million. SLusser feels laStella is expendable because at this point in the season, he's the healthiest that he has been all year and all he can manage to do is hit .240 and play DH. He has played in the field only a dozen times all year.

Waites and Dabovich are intriguing. If they bring them up and they do well, I will be pleased. The season will be positive if the youngsters get some playing time but I feel they wasted five months. These are things they should have starting doing in April but I guess someone thought that with a 107 win season, even a 10% dropoff would get them into the wild card. Wrong.

As I continue to say; they both always think they are the smartest people in the room. I was reading an article today about "classical sabermetrics" versus "Statistical inference" . Basically, the first group is a represented by guys who "Love the game, like math" and the second group is "loves math, likes the game" or "if it tells me something about baseball, it must be correct" versus "what can the mathemetics teach me about baseball". Of course, both groups do not like each other and I think Farhan is in the second group. I did not realize that a second group existed and that there is a lot of snobbery in the second group.

Krukow was discussing this today and felt that Saturday felt like the arrival of two cornerstone guys. They're going to try to have Villar in the lineup as much as possible against both right handers and left handers.
