No, here, it doesn't mean best friends forever.
Those are my new initials for Farhan
Bottom
Feeder
Farhan
The Dodgers, the Padres, the Diamond backs have all gotten better in this past off season, or now.
What did we do?
Give asinine contracts to:
Ruf Crawford Belt DesClafani
Our minor leaguers AREN'T progressing at an acceptable rate and we're STILL BLAMING IT on the pandemic!
How come it didn't hit other teams like that, BFF?
I can't wait to hear what horse crap you shovel if you're interviewed on the pregame today.
You're no better than a politician; all rhetoric and no substance!

I for one, am tired of us playing the role of catfish and sucking the scum off the bottom of the river; the cockrosch feeding from the bottom of the trashcan.
I have had enough of BFF.
All he has ever done is scrape up the flotsam, the unwanted spare parts from other teams.
In a division where the two top dogs go out and sign real talent, we just keep falling further and further behind.
His shtick fooled me for a while because I was sure that when the money was available he would make moves to at least put us in the same ballpark as the others.
But he hasn't. Instead he keeps scraping the bottom of the barrel afraid to pull the trigger, afraid to lose face, afraid to make the deal that is needed.
As far as I'm concerned, he is a farce. A joke. An imposter. A do nothing leader who spills a lot of rhetoric, but in the end does not do what a team needs to become a real winner.
And I severely hope the fan base nails him to the wall in vocal protest.

I'm trying to piece together what happened yesterday. I think they actually tried to make a run at Soto but the prospects were doing so poorly this season that Zaidi hinted that the package was not enough to get it done and not comparable to San Diego's.
Then they pivoted and tried to unload Rodon. Yankees and Twins were off the table because they got Montas and Mahle respectively. Rodon has a player option for $20 million in 2023 which probably scared away everyone. No one wanted to risk being on the hook for 2023 if he got injured so the offers for Rodon were underwhelming. So the Giants are stuck with him and better hope that he stays healthy for the rest of the season.
Joc was hitting about .100 in July and I think no one wanted to deal with his slump.
I get why the deals did not get made but what absolutely infuriates me is that they continue to underestimate the intelligence of the fans. Most people I know were pushing for a rebuild and they can sugarcoat all they want to - the team is too old, slow and incompetant and 2022 is done. I'm not sure why they were in on Soto. If they landed Soto, he would end up being on a team with Soto and 25 old slow guys and he would be intentionally walked like he was with Washington. Maybe the fanbase needs to be more like LA's and only pay attention when they're winning championships. The deals failed to get done so quit insulting the longtime fans.

Maybe I truly am over the hill and out of it when it comes to these things, Reed, but I'm not buying what I read from Pavlovic(?) this morning that no deal was made because it would only be a two month rental.
Not buying it at...all!
ANYTHING would have been better than losing him and getting nothing.
Virtually anything!
Totally agree with you about the fan base and them thinking we're all stupid.
I've been preaching for weeks what you said; We're too old, too slow and MUST get more athletic.
And we addressed NONE OF THAT.
JD Davis is slightly faster than Ruff, but not by much!
Where is the athleticism there?
Where did we get 'better' there?
And as many of us said from the start; the pursuit of Soto was ASSININE! Trade away the farm... and have no one to play around him.
Smart. Really smart.
Oh. Wait. I forgot. This is all about fannies in seats not winning.
BFF and Lary the B aren't fooling me, or anyone else on this board... and likely most Giant fans.
As I said, I hope the fan base tears BFF a new one!

On KNBR this morning, Murph and Mac are usually front runners for Farhan but they said today that Farhan is lucky that Vin Scully passed away last night otherwise they'd be roasting him.
I liked Krukow's segment this morning and worth listening to on podcast later on today. I think they were trying not to talk about the trade deadline this morning so they talked about Vin Scully instead. He had a couple of good stories about Vin and one that goes all the way back to when he was a fan of Mel Ott.
Pavlovic was in error about Rodon. Other teams were scared off by the player option clause for 2023, not because he was a two month rental. I would have traded Rodon just to get out from under that option clause. I guess now the plan is to give him a qualifying offer but I would also use a bit of load management in hopes that he does not re-injure himself.

As I keep saying; now where stuck with NADA!

Understand. But I still say not moving Carlos was on beyond dumb. As I keep saying; now where stuck with NADA! Not quite Nada, if they extend him a qualifying offer and he signs elsewhere, they get a draft pick, I think this one will be after the second round. I don't like that they did not trade him but maybe the return would have been about the same level or less than the compensation pick. Remember, if they traded him, they would get salary relief and get rid of the threat of the 2023 option so there was economic incentive (about $28 million worth of incentive = $6 million for this year and about $22 million if he gets hurt and opts in) to trade him. They usually don't make the information for failed deals public but I'm guessing the main thing was that they waited too long to put him on the market, Yankees and Twins got pitchers from elsewhere, and St Louis and Philadelphia did not offer enough. I think the potential Soto trade might have distracted them too much. The Athletic grades the Giants trade deadline as a "D" which seems appropriate. On KNBR this morning, they were saying that Farhan is a magician... he made a 107 win team disappear.

I hope the media, the fans, everyone gives him all sorts of crap because after the line of rhetoric he fed us, the way he treats the fans like they're idiots, he deserves it!
Don't want to see ANYONE EVER protesting in front of his house, like the left did to Kavanaugh, but at the stadium, in the press, and places like that.

At this point, I don't really care what he wants.
He had a chance to clean up and didn't. And anything else from him, any other rhetoric from him, is, in my opinion, nothing more than a lie.
And I would love to be able to say it to his face
