Considering how good Corbin is, I was not at all displeased with how the Giants did.
But once again, especially against "Hoby" they fell flat on their collective faces once again.
And once again, I am critical of an at bat by Darren Ruf.
Bases loaded, 3-1 count... and he chases a marginal pitch down and away.
I find myself asking this question over and over again: Do these guys REALLY understand the strike zone?
And if veterans like Ruf do, do they not also know the pitch they can drive and can't drive?
It's like that nonsense of why they chase that high pitch at the letters..."It looks sooooo good," say Krukow.
I'd like to ask him this question: After 1000+ at bats, shouldn't the hitter be EXPECTED to RECOGNIZE that pitch?
It's like the little kid who KNOWS he shouldn't do something... and after getting caught and punished a few times, he stops.
I don't think it's unreasonable to expect, no, check, that DEMAND that professional hitters learn the same thing!
Silly me.
"It looks so good, I just can't resist."
What a massive crock!

If hitters performed the way you expect them to, boly, the pitchers wouldn't be very good. Hitters are going to chase, and pitchers are going to miss their spots.
This is what this team does. They put up crooked numbers against mistakes, but they just aren't the type of team to battle and beat good pitching or good hitting. If the other team performs well, the Giants are often going to lose.

I totally agree. But the pictchers that replaced Corbin were just above-average, especially Holy Milner and they were there for the taking
