With Junis on the shelf for what looks to be 4 to 8 weeks, and based upon the way long has pitched this season, IMHO, it is now time for him to be slotted into the rotation and to stop, cease and desist with these ridiculous opener/bullpen games.
This Sammy Long is NOT the guy we've seen in the past.
This version attacks the strike zone, challenges hitters, and, with the addition of that change up, again, IMHO, should be allowed to start and pitch more than a couple of innings.

Kapler said before the last start that he has worked his way up to four innings.

Krukow usually does not question managers' decision on pitchers because you and I do not see the bullpen sessions, off day throwing, or general demeanor. They are also not going to broadcast everything and give opposing teams more information. We are kind of old school and probably would prefer to stretch out Long as much as possible but I think they are doing what they think is best for short term and long term.

I have zero problem with him being phased into longer appearances. What I said had to do with him being a 1 or 2 inning opener.
That's ridiculous.
I expect him to start tomorrow and go 4ish innings, maybe 5 if he keeps his pitch count down.
perfect time for him to do it because there's little pressure vs KC as compared to pitching against LA or SD
