Around the foghorn has a good piece on the draft class. Reckley has above average speed, defense and arm but struggles on the left side as a switch hitter. Perez is said to be above average defensively. I'm thinking with so many shortstops in the minor league system, Luciano might end up at third base if he bulks up.

So if he struggles on the left side already why don't the Giants make him a purely right handed hitter? He's still young, now's the time to do it.

From what I've heard, his left side is the power side and his righthanded side has more bat control.

Hitting from one side sure helped JT snow who was pretty awful hitting from the right side.

Reckley lefthanded link
According to Around the Foghorn, the Giants are really high on Reckley. Under the Farhan regime, they tended not to go over $1.2 million bonus on any single player in the international pool but Reckley got a $2 million bonus. Hopes this works out better than Lucius Fox ($6 million bonus). Video is hard to come by and I think this is all that there is for the moment. I think the other signees don't have any videos and I don't expect any of the others to make an impact with the big club.

Despite Snow's inability to hit from the right side well, Boly, when they made him a pure lefty his power numbers dropped considerably. It could have had something to do with his age, but it seemed like his power dropped off pretty fast.

They did, boagie, that's for sure.
But also, he kept getting hurt, as I recall.
Notice in 2001 how suddenly, his at bats and games played suddenly fell off the table.
