Former President Donald Trump revealed he received a booster shot of the COVID-19 vaccine, drawing boos from a crowd in Dallas. -- AP
Donald does all kinds of horrible stuff, and they love him. He does the right thing for once, and they boo him. The sad thing is that as bad as he is, he would change if he thought it would benefit him politically. He is a patriot to the homeland of Trumplandia.
What is scary is that about 30% of voters are considered to be in Donald's base. That's a lot of really dumb (or at least malleable) people. The "Ugly American" keeps getting uglier.
Hard to believe Donald politicized vaccines, mask-wearing and social distancing -- more or less anything that would cause one to admit there is a virus that is worse than the flu. Oh, you know, things like a much higher death rate and, worse, many don't know they have it, so they pass it on without even realizing it. We feel sorriest for the hardest-hit, but the most dangerous are the ones with mild or no symptoms. That's how the virus spread so quickly when Trump didn't snuff it out right away, and it's how the virus still continues to kill people at a rate of a million per three years' time. But don't wear your masks or get the vaccine, or you're not a true Republican. Trump taught them so well that now they're booing HIM when he tells them he did the right thing! This isn't the first time that's happened, either.
The problem with trying to appeal to the lowest common denominator is that you have to get down to the lowest level.
By the way, I doubt that all the people in Dallas that he spoke to are from the lowest common denominator of the bottom-of-the-barrel group Q-Anon, but thousands of those people congregated in Dallas where they're awaiting the return of the apparently-somehow-not-actually-dead first cousin of Trump's, John Kennedy, Jr., who after he magically and mystically reappears will run in 2024 as Trump's running mate. That there are actual people in Q-Anon is truly scary. Look it up online sometime.
