If Donald Trump were a patriot, perhaps he would have gotten his vaccinations and booster in public to send the right message. Perhaps he wouldn't have talked against the vaccine, masks, social distancing, testing and contact tracing and instead would have encouraged them. And perhaps the seven fringe doctors who attended an anti-vax convention wouldn't have gotten COVID.
To hear the fringe doctors who gathered at an equine facility for the Florida COVID Summit earlier this month, ivermectin is as effective against the virus in humans as it is against worms in horses.
“I have been on ivermectin for 16 months, my wife and I,” Dr. Bruce Boros declared at the end of the meeting at the World Equestrian Center in Ocala. “I have never felt healthier in my life.”
Two days later, the 71-year-old cardiologist fell ill with COVID-19, according to the organizer of the one-day gathering and two other people with direct knowledge.
The organizer, Dr. John Littell, further reported to The Daily Beast that six others among the 800 to 900 participants had also tested positive or developed COVID symptoms “within days of the conference.”
Even better, if he had been a patriot, Donald would likely have saved hundreds of thousands of COVID deaths and trillions of economic loss.

As you know, I'm a big Aaron Rodgers fan, but while unless things get worse, he won't cost the Packers a playoff spot, he could cost them anywhere between a bye and home field advantage in the playoffs all the way up to a Super Bowl championship because he didn't get vaccinated. He caught COVID and missed on game, which became a virtually-guaranteed loss. Three weeks ago the Packers had only one loss; with last week's final-play loss, they now have three.
I wasn't sure if I would continue to root for the Packers, but I suspected I would, just as I continued to root for the Giants even when I knew Barry Bonds was on steroids. And indeed I have. But for such a bright man, Rodgers has fallen prey to false information, as has far too often been the case these past few years.
My wife's sons are anti-vax. The younger one this weak said the vaccine changes one's DNA. My wife came up with a great quip when she said, "Then all the criminals should get it so they won't get caught (by DNA evidence)!" All her son has to do is look it up, but as we've seen far too often on this board, that's simply too hard to do for some.
