To me, based upon what's out there in FA, it was a no brainer to bring back DesClafani and Woods, and Gausman, too.
Zaidi stressed the importance of keeping the chemistry together, and I am so in on that!
Hopefully we can get Kevin signed in the next couple of weeks, too.

Krukow mentioned this morning that the key to DeSclafani was adding a two seamer last year in addition to the four seamer he already had. Even though he has not had much success against the Dodgers, he feels its a good signing. The price per year is fairly reasonable. Also, if one subtracts what he did against the Dodgers, his stats compete with the Cy Young candidates.

I haven't done much study, but I am intrigued by Jon Gray. I'm not as fond of Stroman as I might be. He added a new pitch last season, but it didn't really improve his peripherals much.

One gone: Dickerson dfa'd. Zaidi acknowledged Dickerson in interview yesterday and it shows how far the team has come. When the team starts churning better players, it means that the overall depth is improving.

I guess Steve Matz is signing with the Cards for 4/$44. Unfortunately I like the Dodgers' 1/$8.5 signing of Andrew Heaney better. I'd say Alex Cobb is still my #1 want, along with Robbie Ray. Outside interest is developing in Kevin Gausman, but I personally would rather have Ray.
