I'm really popular with Donald Trump. Get tons of texts from him. Here is the latest. (It's pretty good!)
Hi Roger! Need to go? Choose Joe. FINALLY, a mess Biden can clean up. Joe Biden Toilet Paper. Don't flush your chance!
Gotta admit that Donald's writers were pretty darn good on that one.
The previous test I received from Donald:
Roger, we need your help. Donald Trump can take back the Senate, but he needs your help.
I kind of hate to tell Donald that if not for him, the Republicans would still CONTROL the Senate. If he had properly supported the Senate candidates instead of telling Georgians that their votes don't count, that the election was just going to be stolen anyway, it's likely that at least one and likely both Republican candidates would have won Senate seats, allowing the Republicans to keep either a 51-49 or even a 52-48 majority.
Matt talks about Trump's accomplishments. Let me list a few:
. Killed three-quarters of a million people, lost millions of jobs and cost trillions of dollars with his mishandling of the virus.
. Built a $2 trillion deficit BEFORE the virus and $8 trillion in total after promising to balance the budget.
. Failed to produce his promised $1 trillion infrastructure bill.
. Failed to get Mexico to pay even a penny toward the wall he promised Mexico would pay to build.
. Threatened democracy in an unprecedented manner.
. Divided America more than at any time since the Civil War.
. Split his own party.
It's not every president who can pull all that off!

Guys, any time I say something that is untrue, feel free to correct me. Please cite your source so we can see how truthful and objective it is.
By the way, it was a text I received from Donald('s people), not a test as I miswrote.
Donald has no idea how badly he has hurt my party. (Actually, I'm really an independent at heart, but as you know, until I couldn't take the hypocrisy, I was registered Republican, and that's the way I've voted the vast majority of the time. I did vote for Joe Biden, but I didn't vote for Hillary.

Anybody else getting Trump's texts? They've annoyed me, but I have to say I enjoyed the toilet paper one. The "Don't flush your chance away" really got me!

I'm not sure why I'm getting all these texts from Donald, except that until I couldn't stand the hypocrisy, I was registered as a Republican.
I get emails from the Republican Party too. They want donations, of course, but I simply fill out their questionare and tell them my opinions and return them without donating. You would think they would take me off their lists in order to save money, but I still get them. And now I'm getting more texts than emails.
They're mostly pretty repulsive -- like Trump saying he needs me to take back the Senate, when he himself gave it away -- but I really got a kick out of the Joe Biden Toilet Paper one. The line that made me laugh most was "Don't flush your chance away." That was a great line!

I don’t get those texts or emails. Why do you even bother to fill out a questionnaire? They are phishing for your e mail. You might think you are discerning enough to know the difference but these cookies they put on your browser can be subtle as to affecting your search results or Amazon purchases.

I did unsubscribe to the emails. I'm not quite sure what to do about the texts. Plus I might want to get the Joe Biden Toilet Paper, and since my wife is a new grandmother, maybe they'll come out with Joe Biden diapers. Maybe even adult diapers. Who knows?
Where I respond is when they send me questionnaires in the mail. They're looking for donations, of course, and I don't donate. I simply put $0 in the amount. But I let them know my thinking. Even if their primary purpose is donations, they should be truly interested in what Republicans think. I let them know that I feel Trump hijacked the party, a party I used to be proud to belong to.
The thing that gets me most about Matt isn't even that he says he knows more about the election than the Supreme Court does. That's foolish, but it's not immoral. But when he says the Democrats stole the election and we should tip our caps to them, that's flat-out wrong. If they truly stole the election, it should be overturned.
To me, that simply shows how Trump has turned good people into puppets. Matt keeps acting as if all that happened on Janaury 6th was the crazy guy in the buffalo headdress, but he ignores a couple of things.
First, that guy was the Shaman of Q-Anon, a very dangerous right-wing group that is on the FBI's list or terrorist groups. Second, the Shaman's lawyer has said in court that Trump's brainwashing has been the best (or, really, worst) since Hitler.
Donald has passed on chances to put down Q-Anon, the KKK, the Proud Boys, other right-wing extremist and racist groups and even Hitler, whom Trump's former Chief of Staff John Kelly says told Kelly that Hitler "did a lot of good things."
Social media actually did Trump a huge favor by banning him, since now he has less opportunity to shoot himself in the foot with his lies and his foolish statements about people from Mitt Romney to Hitler to the head of the KKK.
Boly told me that Republicans fear Trump. Is that really the type of politician we want? Good politicians are respected, not feared. Dictators are feared, and Trump's actions show that's what he aspires to.
I can't reiterate enough how important it is to watch HBO's documentary "Four Hours at the Capitol." I was wrong about one thing though: It's not 90 minutes in length; it's 95 minutes. Watch it and you'll see that Matt doesn't have a clue what happened that day. I should mention that the documentary tells its story not with narrative, but with harrowing video and comments from both sides. IIRC the majority of the comments actually came from pro-Trump supporters who were there that day. I need to watch it again; it was that honest and good. I'll try to track the commentary and see if I'm right that it while it was pretty balanced, a little more came from pro-Trumpers than from the other side. The one guy I do remember speaking for the other side was the policeman who was pulled into the crowd, pled with them that he had kids, and was finally returned, unconscious, to the police.
The two things I most learned from this video were that the rioters were within two or three seconds of the door to the Senate before Officer Goodman, whom many Republicans voted against with regard to his receiving a medal of honor, led them in the other direction and how devout the rioters were in their belief that they were acting as patriots. They actually had a gallows built for Pence which they brought along. That's Mike Pence, a guy who supported Trump extremely loyally until Trump told him to break the constitution.
Don't vote for Democrats. Don't vote for Republicans. Vote for democracy.
