Why in the world would you hit Kris Bryant in the five-hole against Max Scherzer?
That makes no sense at all. He's got something like a 237 batting average with runners in scoring position, the wind is blowing left to right, so he hits the ball in the air it's going to be an
I would have hit Lamont in the five-hole
Just one more time Gabe kapler, Bruce Bochy, it doesn't matter who it is managing the team, their strategy sometimes befuddles me, and this is one of those times.

Actually, I thought it was to alternate left-right.

Agree, that was likely the reason.
But Bryant is NOT a good RISP RBI kind of guy.
.235 with RISP is borderline terrible which I believe is one reason the Cubs mostly hit him in the 2 hole.
The more this season goes forward the more I question having him back

Wade Jr. has also been ineffective since he was moved to the middle of the lineup, I'd rather see him bat toward the top or bottom.

I was thinking the exact same thing.
That "relaxed" composure seem to be missing from ALL of his at bats this post season.
That plus he's something like 3 for his last 40 or so.
My numbers aren't right, I know, but he's been "Longoria-like" slumping.
And Evan broke out last night, so hopefully Lamont isn't far behind.
