Angel strikes again, again, again,.
Why is it every time this putz does a game it comes back to burn us one way or another.
I would like to think I am biased, that he really evens out his terrible calls.
But that is just not the case in my opinion.
Twice in this game he burned Darin Ruf
Dominic Leone struck out Chris Taylor, but Angel Hernandez called it Ball 3 giving the 167 hitting Bellinger a chance to hit with more Runners on, and Taylor eventually came around to score.
When I heard Angel Hernandez was going to be behind the plate in game 2 I knew that was not good news for us.
It is my opinion based upon nothing, that Angel Hernandez has a thing against the Giants, and. INHO he proved it again tonight.
This guy has no business umpiring major league baseball games. None.

While Angel screwed us the real reason why we lost was because Kapler over managed and Longoria is just horrible.. No way I take Gausman out there for Leone.. Doval maybe, but Leone?? Insane.. Longo id an automatic out and has been for weeks now.. Against Scherzer I wanna see Bryant at 3rd and 3 lefty OF of Duggar yaz and ( gulp) Dickerson.. Littell and Leone pitched well for us but I never felt comfy with them esp Litell who gives up HRs at an alarming pace

Urias was getting squeezed too at times, but he pitched through it, our guys didn't.

1-He's so terribly awful he should not be allowed to umpire any ML games.
2-He has it in for the Giants. Of that I have no doubt.
I disagree about Leone, however, Mordy. I would have made the same call, BUT...BUT Kapler screwed up by having him up and throwing 3 times before bringing him in.
Even Ron Darling and the main announcer commented on that during the game.
Believe me, I've been there. You warm up THAT many times before being called in and 2 things happen:
1-Your adrenaline was up and pumping the 1st two times up...and is NOT the same for the third. There's a mental let down that can't be helped.
2-Though your arm is built up and ready to go... ALL of those throws in the pen COUNT in terms of weariness on the arm.
I would have brought them in but....but...I wouldn't have had Leone up so early.
1 "Hump" as Kruk calls it, and the second time, he's in the game.
Kapler screwed up in the same way for Littel, too.
What he did was "Alou" them; get them up too often before bringing them in.
Bad, bad managing of a pitching staff, and I suspect... I suspect that is what he did in Philly, too.
I don't like the match up of Gausman and LA. I just don't
We had no choice but to run him out there, but for a pitcher to be struggling for over 3 months with his bread and butter pitch?
No way. Somethings wrong and I don't know what it is.
Wood or DesClafani on Monday? I don't like either match up. DesClafani has NOT pitched well vs LA in his career.
he has to pitch in one of the games so we're left with this:
Anthony next or in what could be the deciding game in game 4.
Not good choices, but I think I go with Wood on Monday.
HAVE to be up 2 games to 1 going into game 4, or, IMHO, it's over.
But it's one game, and though I thought a win last night was almost a must with Scherzer looming, let the Dodgers get it all out of their system.
All those runs in one game... and then shut off the faucet.

Urias was getting squeezed too at times, but he pitched through it, our guys didn't. Squeezed, yes, but in key... key moments? Like that ridiculous call strike 3 on Ruf in the first?
Nope.
No way.
The screw ups for Urias were earlier in the count, not in critical moments.

I don't consider the first batter of the game as a key moment.
I don't think Hernandez is biased, I just think he's a shitty umpire. Hernandez pisses everyone off equally.
Now, Gary Darling...he was a Dodger fan and it showed.

I contend that it was key, because the Dodgers had just scored two runs, and he was our leading off the inning.
They took the bat out of Darren rough hands, killing any rally before it could start.
It also set a tone for the game, I told everyone including the giant players knew was coming.
Baseball can simply not have someone like Angel Hernandez setting the tone of the game like he did.
It's not good for the game of baseball, it's not good for the game in progress.
The dipstick needs to be replaced and needs to be replaced now I do agree with you about Hernandez. He is the worst umpire I have ever seen.

The Dodgers didn't score in the first inning. Ruff batted when the score was still 0-0.
Both teams knew the deal last night, Angel would be behind the plate, so they knew bad calls were going to be made. The Dodgers played through it, the Giants didn't.
Boly, I don't feel right sticking up for Angel Hernandez. I think Major League Baseball is doing a disservice by allowing him to umpire in the post-season. Angel Hernandez is probably the worst umpire in baseball history. Baseball, not Major League Baseball, just baseball. You would have to scour the tee-ball leagues to find someone worse, and I'm not certain you could find someone there either.
So I'm not sticking up for Angel Hernandez because I like him, or think he's better than his reputation. I'm sticking up for him because I don't think his bad calls are on purpose, because that's giving Angel too much credit. He's really that bad. Assuming that he's deliberately trying to give the edge to a certain team would mean that Angel has a good understanding of the strike zone or whether someone is safe or out, which is not the case.
Also, the Giants lost 9-2, even Angel Hernandez's poor umpiring can't swing 7 runs in one direction. The Giants lost because they sucked last night. I expect and demand better on Monday.

I understand. You are not sticking up for Angel, you're just saying that you think he didn't hurt us any more than he hurt the Dodgers.
And I'm not trying to imply we lost the game because of Angel Hernandez stunk!!!
That's why I titled this post umpiring because I was only a dressing but I consider a bias performance by Angel Hernandez.
You disagree, and that's okay

I've read that Crawford's wife was posting on Twitter about Hernandez's strike zone. Probably not a good idea for Giants' families to be complaining about the umpiring and showing up the umpiring crew.

I'm going to disagree with you here, Reed.
It's time putzes like Hernandez were called and put up before MLB for what they are.
The more voices the better!

This is what disgusts me about little league games, the families of the players think they are doing a favor for their brother/sister/son or daughter by acting like a jackass, when in reality they're just making it harder for that person to focus on the field. As well as creating animosity between that player and the umpiring crew. The family needs to stay out of it. Leave it up to the players and coaches to argue calls.

Totally agree, boagie.
But this is not a new phenomenon.
When I was 11 or so, roughly around 1961, I was playing little league and an article came out in the local paper about parents, mostly mothers back then, pretty much demanding that they leave coaches, players and umpires alone during and after games.
And it's so much worse now, because back then we had adult umpires paid by the city.
Now?
Teen age kids is what I've mostly seen.

Of course, we see that in other sports also where the wife or girlfriend is complaining on social media. Even though they probably mean well, I think people like Curry's wife or Mahome's fiancée hurt the cause more than help.
