It's clear to me who came to play tonight and it's not us.
Can we Chase any more pitches up and out of the strike zone?
Yes, I think we can.
But here is my question; if the game plan was to sit on Soft Stuff why are we chasing fastballs up and out of the zone?
As we have played in the last now eight games during which we are four and three soon-to-be four and four, I'm starting to question the heart of this group.
I seriously am.
Why?
That's easy. When there really wasn't any pressure on, and there was a lot of season to go, this team was just fine.
But now that the pressure has ramped up they are choking on the carrot.
Led by Posey, Crawford, Kris Bryant, Mike Yastrzemski, and lately, Darin Ruf.
The guys you count on to be their best when it means the most can't be counted on.
Couldn't ask for more. Yes, that was sarcasm.
Once again this group is disgusting me!

Yes, that was sarcasm. Once again this group is disgusting me! In the first "Ghost Busters," Bill Murray delivers the line..."Okay... she's a dog..."
I'll paraphrase:
"Okay... I was I was wrong."
Once again this group proved me wrong.
Not Posey or Bryant. Their continual failures in RBI situations hasn't changed. They stink at it.
But for everyone else on the team NOT NAMED KEVIN GAUSMAN, I was gladly wrong.
After that ridiculous homer by Nola, I almost turned the game off I was so disgusted!
For Littel it seems that it's either penthouse our outhouse.
Nola's homer was outhouse.
But to everyone else's credit, they never quit.
And Duggar proved why he deserves to stay once Dickerson's healthy.
He nailed that fastball, and even though it didn't go out, he came within an inch or 2 of coming up BIG!

Belt came up big last night scoring the go ahead run and being in perfect position to start the DP. Kapler might have taken him out yesterday for a pinch runner in the top of the ninth but if he did, the replacement 1B probably does not make the play.
Also credit Tyler Rogers for going to first and fielding Crawford's return bullet.
Gausman's splitter was hanging all night and he kept going with it. I don't see him being paid like an ace in free agency.

With his potential stuff, people will be chafing at the proverbial bit to get him.
I'm so disgusted with him, part of me would like to let him just walk in lieu of paying him mega-dollars.

I think he is missing his spider-tack.

I think he is missing his spider-tack. That's a good point...Can't accuse others and not look at our own, that's for sure.
Does that apply to DesClafani as well?
Both of their outtings dropped dramatically in the second half.

Gausman was cited by Farhan at the all star break as one of the free agents he would go after. he preferred Giants free agents because of the continuity and legacy but sentiment only goes so far. If he continues to have bad outings, Gausman is gone.

If he continues to have bad outings, Gausman is gone. I remember that, Reed, and given the right dollars, it's not a bad move, especially so after I looked at the FA pitchers this year; not many good ones worth going after...unless I'm misreading the list.
