I am a huge Tommy lastella fan, but there is no way he nor Donovan Solano makes the play that Estrada did to end the game.
Tell me is a really good hitter, but he does not have the range that Estrada does.

I was starting to think Thairo was going the way of the other Yankee the Giants acquired, Mike Tauchman, as he started off great then started to plummet, but yesterday was a huge turnaround for him. And with a bunch of lefties coming up for them to face, it’s just in time.

I was starting to think Thairo was going the way of the other Yankee the Giants acquired, Mike Tauchman, as he started off great then started to plummet, but yesterday was a huge turnaround for him. And with a bunch of lefties coming up for them to face, it’s just in time. There are many things I love about Thairo, Mark, and all of those things were validated yesterday by what he did with the bat and in the field.
1-I love his set up at the plate; flat bat, NO gigantic right elbow up, which can cause a loop in the swing
2-We've seen all year long on offense and defense, no moment seems too big for him.
3-His speed
4-Soft hands
5-Very good range
6-Strong throwing arm
7-His all field hitting approach. He may have pulled the ball yesterday, but we've all seen him go to the right side frequently.
8-Baseball smarts.
Not saying he's going to be a starter soon, but he's very versatile and can play anywhere in the infield but 1B, and many outfield spots if needed.

So far this season I've been more impressed with Estrada than I have with La Stella or Solano.
In fact, I've been quite dissapointed with La Stella, he hasn't lived up to his reputation of being a pesky hitter that gets on base at a high percentage.
Solano's had his moments, but he hasn't been nearly as consistent as he was the previous two seasons.
For me, Estrada is the starting second baseman moving forward. At very least a platoon partner with La Stella.
