Been a long since I've said this about this team, but that was an absolutely horse manure effort out there.
No adjustment to a guy throwing change up after change up after change up. They just kept sitting fastball and kept getting fooled.
Horse manure! If that's the way they going to come out and play the last game of a road trip why bother playing.

Fortunately, the Dodgers had a horse manure day also. I guess one day beats having horse manure day every day like in the second half of 2016 and all of 2017. The upcoming homestand is going to be the toughest of the year so time to strap in.

I did not see the Dodger game, so I cannot comment.
What Disturbed me the most, was that our team simply did not come out ready to play.
Different people may feel differently, but what I saw from their at-bats was a team that was either sick with covid, coming down with an illness, or just not interested.

From what I've been hearing, it was COVID and the east coast heat humidity was wearing them down.

Let's not forget the Brewers are also a pretty good team, with a solid pitching staff.

When the Giants went to Milwaukee, they benefitted from a number of Brewers players with COVID and Yelich out.

When the Giants went to Milwaukee, they benefitted from a number of Brewers players with COVID and Yelich out. They did!
I have no issue what-so-ever from the effort of our hitters last night.
Time and time again they scorched the ball... and had nothing to show for it.
I DO have an issue with Alvarez.
He has been outstanding in his relief role... but last night you could see and I mean really see how tight he was, how nervous he was, how wound up he was in that first inning.
When he's at his best, he's loose and easy.
Not last night.
He was pitching like it was game 7 of the World series.
What I learned about him last night was that he's not a 'big game guy,' like Romo and so many others we've had.
He's a multi-year veteran who has done this before.
hey, if he just got hit, I'd have no problem with an off day.
But that wasn't the problem.
Yeah, he got squeezed a little, but not that badly, and I've already stated why, above; he was tight as a fricking drum... pinching his butt cheeks tightly together to keep the "pea" (not pee) from falling out.
We have a right to expect better from a veteran.

The Brewers are a good team and Joey Votto says they have the best pitching staff he has ever seen. Good thing we are seeing them somewhat later in the season so that if we have to face them in the playoffs, we are more familiar with them.

Hard to beat them.
