I see by our recent 2 signings that Farhan is fishing around the bottom of the dumpster again.
That's certainly not a bad thing, especially considering the gems he's found in the past.
My fingers are crossed that at least some of the discarded 'trash' (and I use that word facetiously), turn out to be gems.
That would be nice.
very nice!

I have a friend who was a great pitching prospect. He also was a tough competitor and sometimes said things that he would regret and then recover. A 90+ mile per hour fastball that was high for his day.
He once got pounded, a rare thing for him, and upset with himself and when taken out reacted verbally. That was it for him and his talent and not getting another chance. He was likely blackballed or set way back by the baseball evaluators. Even when he 'grew up' shortly thereafter.
I am sure there are lots of these guys. Sometimes patience is a virtue. Yastrzemski and Muncy are two.

Good point, Gary!
I hadn't thought of that!
When I was in the military, I played in a league against semi-pros.
One of the guys played for Tommy LaSorda when he was a minor league manager.
This kid was BIG, and threw gas!
I will never, ever forget his words about LaSorda:
"If you were one of his favorites, you could do no wrong.
Everybody else got one chance..."
