Watching Logan Webb & Tyler Anderson pitch and Donovan Solano play defense make baseball absolutely no fun
And I mean none.
Logan Webb doesn't seem to get the concept of throwing strikes, and attacking the strike zone.
I like his stuff, I like his moxie, but I don't like his lack of command, and until that changes, his future will be very much in doubt.
In his own way, he is very much like Head Case, Tyler beede.
Another guy with good stuff, but with no idea where it's going

Webb might be a victim of the Kapler system. The catchers are not setting a target until the last second and he might not know where to throw the ball. Webb is not a head case like Beede.

Agree, Reed. Webb is NOT a head case, and I hope I didn't imply that he was.
What I was/am saying is that like Beede, Webb has poor command of his stuff.
His stuff ISN'T as good as Beede's, but it's good enough to be successful in the show.
But if you can't command your stuff, and Webb clearly, right NOW, cannot, you will not be successful... as Webb (hopefully) is learning.

As to the catchers and their targets... that's a tough one.
Personally, I think our catchers are LAZY with the glove-target.
Hold the bloody thing still, and stop flapping it up and down.
Krukow talked about this exact point about 10 games ago or so.
It has to stop, but likely, it's a habit that'll be hard to break.
Starting tonight, I'm going to watch other teams and see if their catchers do the same thing.
