Understand up front, I'm NOT predicting 'whom' we get in return, but these are my predictions for the quality we'll get back, and who's not likely to be traded.
1-Cueto-Based upon his performance, and that fact that in each start, he's getting better and better, Cueto will get us a very, very good prospect, or pair of prospects.
2-Crawford-Won't get anything close to a top prospect, but based upon what Farhan did with Melancon last year, he'll get something worthwhile.
3-Belt-He'll draw a little better than Crawford, if only for his power potential. And, if he stays hot for a while, that should be another reason for a decent return.
4-Smyly-With his injury, and fingers being so important to a pitcher, I don't see how he can be moved.
5-Gausmann-If I'm a team looking for pitching down the stretch, and based upon the number of K's he's getting, this guy would be a good choice. He's only on a one year contract, which I believe will help us.
6-Sandoval-The fact that he's a switch hitter and can play 1B and 3B, he'll be worth something to someone. No where near a top line prospect back, but something worthwhile. Us keeping him is just stupid.
7-Pence-With his power potential, he'll get us something decent in return. At the very least, we could take a flyer on someone. He, like Pablo, is wasted here.
8-Longoria-With his contract, not likely to be sought after.
9-Jeffy-Someone may want him, but whatever we get in return would just be a flyer.
The following would be surprise moves, but not out of the question
a-Dickerson-Lot's of pop for someone
b-Hate to say it, but if he'd get some really good players back, (don't yell at me!!!) Yaz. He is proving last year isn't a fluke, and at 29, how many years would he really give us as we continue to rebuild?
A rebuild that will take YEARS longer, the longer Kapler is in the driver's seat.
c-Flores-This guy continues to show that he can hit. Not my favorite player, but with his versatility, he'll be someone's target.
That's it, now we wait and see.
