I used to complain frequently, especially in his early days with the Giants, about Bochy and his lineups.
Well, after seeing Kapler's ridiculous idea for a line up last night, in comparison, Bochy, in his early days, looks like the genius that Joe Theisman once referred to as "Norman" Einstein.
Everyone has different ideas about a line up.
Almost everyone thinks HE could write a better line up than MLB managers.
And perhaps that is true.
Based upon what Kapler did last night, I think there's merit to that statement.
To me... to ME, it's just one more blatant example of a guy with his head so buried in analytics that it belies common sense.
A guy more concerned with Left/Right matchups that actually paying attention to who's seeing the ball well and who isn't.
I might be old, but I ain't stupid.
I get putting power bats up higher in the line up so they get that extra at bat or two in a game.
I really do.
Kris Bryant in Chicago, for example.
He can hit with power, and he has better than average speed on the bases.
But that said, putting a base clogger like Pablo in the two hole is flat our moronic, IMHO.
And ANY lineup, again, IMHO, that hits Crawford in the 5 hole when it's clear he's NOT seeing the ball well, takes the term 'moronic' to a brand new level.
Hey.
I get it.
We're missing 2 "power" bats in Longoria and Belt, but Pablo 2 and Crawford 5 is nuts!
Ya'll may have a different opinion, and that's fine.
But for me, it's just one more example of Kapler being basically clueless as the captain of the ship.
