Based upon Kapler's comments yesterday, it sounded to me as if Billy Hamilton IS going to make the team...and I think that's not only unwise, but foolish.
He's played 6 years in the show, and really has proven he can't hit.
I'd rather keep a kid and let the kid play, than allow a useless veteran to hold that roster spot.
Darren Ruf continues to impress.
Based upon what he does with his hands as he gets ready to hit, I can't see that success translating into the season.
At the moment, he reminds me of Tyler Austin, that big bat potential we had last year.
As I watch Ruf initiate his complicated, bat straight up, elbow up swing, I see the potential for a LOT of missed contact, or weak, pop up-contact.
I do not, for the life of me, understand why someone would adopt and then keep complicated, so much up and down motion in their swing.
I don't.
But I guess we'll see.
I'd sure rather Ruf make the squad than Hamilton
