If teams suspected the Astros of stealing signs, why didn't they simply change the signs? I don't condone the Astros setup but it was asinine to continue to use the same signs if there was any inkling of sign stealing, particularly in the playoffs and World Series. As such, players such as Bellinger who said they stole the World Series from them get no sympathy from me.
On the flip side, the Giants made it easy with their use of fluorescent nail polish.

That's a good point, and honestly, one I've asked myself more than a few times.
Plus, sign stealing has been a part of baseball since baseball began.
The "how" doesn't seem to matter that much.

In the 2017 World Series, the Dodgers had a feeling that Darvish was tipping his pitches after Game 1. With so much at stake, it is beyond me why they continued using the same signs for the rest of the World Series. The Astros' sign stealing setup was extreme and illegal but it is the Dodgers' fault for not making the necessary adjustments. To hear Bellinger whine about the Astros "stealing" the World Series is pathetic. If there was any inkling that signs are being compromised, the Dodgers should have changed them right after game 1. For allowing the sign stealing to happen, the Dodgers, Yankees, etc don't deserve to be crowned winners if the title is vacated.
