I've been criticized by Rog and Mark about my character assessment of Carlos Beltran. Now he's on the chopping block as the Mets manager before he even manages a game because of his significant role in one of the biggest cheating scandals in baseball history. Seems like someone's assessment was wrong, but was it mine?

I, for one, have never disagreed with your assessment of Beltran.
I've always had character questions about him, boagie, and your assessment of him, IMHO, is right on the mark.

Well it's official, he was fired today. Is this the shortest tenure for a manager in history?
In other news, the Giants hired a broad to be a coach...
This is getting bad real quick.
They aren't hiring based on merit, they're hiring to appease the San Francisco elites.

The female or the other?
But you are right; it's getting bad in a hurry.

The hiring of the chick is what I was referring to. I dont think it's going to blow up in their faces as you suggest. Her role is so miniscule that you could hire anyone to fill it. It's just a silly PR move. But it shows you where the focus is, and it's not focused on creating a winning atmosphere.

Gotcha.
A PR move?
In SF?
The liberals capitol of the USA?
This is consistent with everything that city does, to being the first big, Sanctuary city, to the acceptance of gay as the norm...still, you could be right.
But it's a mistake of monumental proportions, IMHO, and is NOT the same as hiring a female trainer or a female announcer.
