Thanks, Mark.
Personally, I would have liked to see them bring in the fences in RCF more than they did.
The "Triples Alley" concept is fun for fans, but for hitters? Ummm, no.
Being a pitcher-friendly park is great, too, but the Giant park, IMHO, goes too far towards that end.
Still, the changes are better than what we had.

I'd have preferred they had left it how it was. They focused on pitching and defense because hitters didn't want to play here, which resulted in 3 Championships.

I know Rog wouldn't agree, boagie, but I think all 3 of those championships were, to an extent, flukes.
We were far from the better team in the play offs and all the World Series.

I'm not sure what to make of your post, Boly. I think Rog would agree with what you're saying, but I'm a little surprised you of all people would say that.
I believe the Giants were the best TEAM as in all the Giants 25 players were better than the opposition's 25 players.
In my opinion the Giants had the best pitching all three seasons, not to mention 2011 as well when the offense was non-existent. The only team that was close in pitching were the Tigers in 2012. They had a very good rotation, but their bullpen was not nearly as deep as ours (especially with Lincecum as the super reliever.)
In all three Championship runs we had a formidable bench which figured into a lot of late inning wins during the season and the post season. I believe our bench as good and often times better than anyone we faced.
Plus, it happened 3 times in 5 seasons. To call consistent success a fluke is ridiculous, in my opinion.
I hope that Farhan was paying attention more than you were, Boly. Because I believe those teams were a very good blueprint of how to build another dynasty.

I disagree, boagie.
In none of those years do I believe we were the best team.
Best starting staff? Likely.
Best bullpen, no question.
But lineups? Everyday players.
I say, no way.
We had holes every where.
For example: in 2010 Rowand was no where near what he had been.
Renteria was old and hurt a lot, posting only 243 at bats.
Uribe, though he hit 24 HRs, hit a feeble, .248, and his range, at SS, was below average.
2012: A very, very unimposing line up outside of Posey and Pence
In each and every season we were piecing things together, and basically, got lucky with some players who, the next year, quickly faded into oblivion.
Ross, Burrell, Renteria, Sanchez, Scutaro, Torres,...it's a long list.
I guess we're going to have to disagree, because what I saw happen, was basically just a bunch of guys who were in the right place at the right time.
The kind of magic that happens when chemistry is at its best.
I've played on that kind of team once, and there is no way to explain the success we had.
Make no mistake: I'll take that kind of chemistry and magic in a heart beat any time.
But to me, that's what it was because we didn't have the talent of the other teams in the playoffs or the world series.
Sorry.
