Though I like Bart and Dubon a lot, though I haven't seen enough of Davis to know if he has a future or not.
Of the guys I have seen, I remain unimpressed with Duggar.
Love his speed, but as I've said before, I'm not sold on his ability to go back on a ball.
Many of you have argued this point with me, but until I see him consistently prove he can go back on a ball and actually catch it, I'm sticking to my position.
I do not see a future for Shaw, though, to an extent, that's not a fair statement because Bochy never gave him a chance last season.
Not even a brief look-see.
That was a mistake, I believe, on Bochy's part, and it tells ME he didn't want Shaw on the team in the first place.
Slater was simply not the same after his illness during a mid season Milwaukee series.
He can play a lot of places, but honestly, he took too many strikes that were hittable pitches.
And he didn't do it just a few times, he did it a LOT!
And that doesn't even begin to address the number of called strike 3's.
It's hard not to love Dickerson's bat...but he's got a bad back to go with it.
Can't really bank on him as a full time outfielder because of that.
I think it was boagie who wanted him to get some practice at 1B, but honestly, I feel that would be a mistake.
Violent movements left and right, up and down would be harder on his back than playing in the outfield.
And besides that, outfielders are usually outfielders for a reason; they can't field ground balls.
Mini-Yaz won me over after his Colorado series, and he pretty much never stopped hitting all season long.
I flat out love his intensity and attitude.
He's one of a handful of guys who we had last year who, IMHO, came to play each and every at bat.
Logan Webb impressed me, even more so considering how little minor league time he had.
He showed me a lot even though his numbers were not that impressive.
I think he has a #3 starter-future with us.
For a while, I liked Anderson... but he hit a wall as a starter, and until Bochy moved him to the pen, he never got past that wall.
Not sure what I think about him.
Coonrod.
No command, or rather, simply not enough command for me to want to see him as anything more than the last, or 2nd to last guy in the pen.
Tyler Rogers- Sorry, I'm simply not sold on the guy. Hey, his delivery can be deceptive, but I didn't see a whole lot of command with his pitches.
Sure, every pitcher misses, but I felt that his "misses" were more than a guy throwing in the 80's can afford.
Tyler Beede, IMHO, is still a head case. Or if he's not a head case, then he's one of those guys with great ability who never learn to harness it.
Anyway, after being gone for the last 11 days, those are my thoughts.
