Most of the faces mentioned for our job I know.
But a couple I've never even heard of!
Quantraro?
Grifol?
Most of the coaches I've seen on teams are former major leaguers I've at least heard of.
But these 2?
Never, EVER heard of them playing on the field, so I tried to look them up on the baseball encyclopedia.
Nada.
Zilch.
Anybody know anything about them... OTHER than the fact that they were coaches last season?

I guess my answer will be predictable here. Zaidi knows his stuff and knows these guys so I don’t care that I haven’t heard of them. And yeah, they’re probably stat geeks, but that’s the reason you hold interviews. You look for the opening minded stat guy that can also relate to players and has leadership qualities. Zaidi worked with Bochy so he’s looking for a young version of him that also makes extensive use of all the statistics and strategies that are available to them. He wants a leader like Bochy who also shares the same opinion as him. Who do you want Randy? That hot new name, Dusty Baker? Mike Matheny? Felipe Alou? Tommy Lasorda? Connie Mack?

What,Mark, you don't want John McGraw or Leo the Lip?
Both are proven winners😊

Connie was the smartest of the bunch though. He found the perfect way to not get fired. Own the team!

Stats dorks don't manage men, they go by numbers. And Fargeek did not work with Bochy. He put up with him for one year because he had no choice.
