I have no idea what's going through his head. No idea whatsoever.
It wasn't enough that he helped give it up last night but Abad gives it up again tonight.
He's had a very mediocre to poor Major League career and bocci is depending upon him in the eighth inning.
There has to be a better option. There has to be
Like I posted in another thread, if Bochy does not get 2,000 wins he will be the reason.

"Giving it up" means completely losing a lead. That didn't happen. You had to expect Abad to get a lot of late inning work with Watson, Smith, Gott and Moronta all hurt. We just don't have a reliable pen right now. Get used to it and see who we might keep or lose for next year. Right now is pre-spring tryouts...nothing more

I accept that.
I just think there were and are better choices than Abad.
Back in 2014 he had a good year, but he really hasn't been very good since then.
And more importantly, management needs to see what the youngsters can do, not some old guy who's not going to be around next year.
I would have gone to Anderson, which he eventually did, much earlier.
I realize that right now, we have to keep both Abad and Wandy the P., but really Abad and Joseph have no place on this team next year so why keep running them out there?
I'd rather see Sellman, Anderson or Wild Thing 2.0 (Coonrod) than Abad.

I’m going to list all the young Giants pitchers that impressed me this year.
1. 2. 3.
That’ll do it! Zaidi will have to have a very busy offseason to fix that pitching staff.

You nailed that, Mark.
I like Logan's stuff, Beede's stuff, and Anderson's mentality, but neither of those get you outs.

I’m not saying these young kids won’t get better, just saying at this point there’s not a single one to get excited about.

What disturbs me the most is not that they get hit around, it's their pathetic lack of command, none more so than head case himself.

To be fair this kid Rogers looks excellent right now, although I don’t know if that submarine gimmick will continue to work after hitters see him a few times. And Shaun Anderson appears to have found himself as a reliever.

I was wondering the same thing about Rogers, Mark.
As a kid, one of my 'gimmick' pitches, and I had a lot of them, was to THROW just like he throws.
My submarine curve was huge! So huge that in one game, I struck out 4 guys that got on base because the CATCHER couldn't catch the ball.
Roger's breaking ball isn't very big at all, and he doesn't locate that submarine fastball all that well, so you may be on to something.
It's a novelty... but since hitters don't see it that often, who knows.
Worked for Quisenberry.
As to Anderson, he threw 3 sliders that impressed the living crap outta me!
I remember thinking, "this kid sure looks like a closer!
Sure as heck has closer stuff!"
With Smith down, I'm betting Bochy is going to take a long, and deserved, look at him.
