Has anyone noticed how many players that we've traded away in the last 2 years have done, not long after they were traded?
Here's a short list:
Parra-Started to hit.
Panik-Started to hit.
McCutchen-Started to hit.
Bryan Reynolds-In the running for a batting title.
A friend of mine suggested it was coaching, and I'm not going to disagree.
I did NOT like it when they shafted Rags and replaced him...and these last 2 years, look at our pitchers are struggling more and more.
They replaced our hitting coach with 2 guys, and we now have bats that need not only Viagra, but also Cialis and any other drug that will help them 'get it up!'
All this isn't lost on me.
Time to clean house

Have you also noticed when players come here they hit well in the begining then get cold after a while?

Certainly coaching is a possibility, but the ballpark to me is the biggest one. Especially when you’re talking about lefthanded hitters. I mean Parra for example, goes from Coors to Oracle. That’s the best hitting park to the worst! Now he’s in Washington where the ball jumps in the summer. And Cutch went from here to hitter’s paradises in NY and Philly. Reynolds of course never played here. Panik? He’s cooled off after a hot start, but he did homer off Scherzer the other day. Of course he did hit those homers for us back to back off of Kershaw and Jansen. So maybe coaching, and I’m sure the new manager will make changes there, but more probably the ballpark.

I'm not really buying into that 'ball park' thing any more, Mark.
Yes, it does take away HRs to RF/RCF.
But the gaps and the alleys?
That should ADD to batting average... but it doesn't.
To me, that's a mental thing.
Kent, Burks, Bonds, Galarraga, Aurilia, Snow and a host of others did well here.
And the current clowns cannot?
That's why I'm not totally into the ball park thing.
It has an effect as I said above, but I'm going to lean towards coaching being the problem.

Pillar isn't hindered by the ballpark, neither is Yaz.

Pillar isn't hindered by the ballpark, neither is Yaz. I agree, boagie.
I should have mentioned them by name.
I'm tired of hearing about our ballpark.
But that said, I would like to see the fences moved in so we can become competitive in FA hitters.

Yes, facts are tiring, so you should be tired of hearing about the ballpark. It’s not a problem for Yaz? Then why have 12 of his 19 HR’s been hit on the road? As for Pillar he’s right handed, so the ballpark doesn’t affect him as much. Boly says he’s tired of hearing about it, but he then admits free agents won’t come here, so he’s acknowledging it’s a problem. It’s a real thing, guys, whether you like it or not. It’s the worst hitting park in the entire major leagues.

It is a problem. I'm just tired of hearing about it and the team NOT doing anything about it.
But I also refer to what I said earlier:
Alou Bonds Kent Burks Aurilia Snow Galarraga
Wasn't that big of a deal for them.

No I agree, Mark. It certainly robs hitters of homeruns, that cannot be disputed. But it shouldn't be an excuse for why a hitter is not making solid contact. It's not an excuse for why Panik was hitting poorly in his last few seasons here, and it's not an excuse for Belt going into 2 month long slumps.

Which is pretty much what I said in a previous post on this thread that it should add to batting average.
Don't know what the problem with our guys is, but I would like a new coaching staff for next season.

Boly, most of your list is right handed and there’s a rumor out there that one of the two lefties on your list just might have dabbled in some illegal chemicals. As for JT, who knows what he might have been in a friendlier ballpark?

I can't question your points, but the thing is, they still hit the ball out.
Heck, Belt playing elsewhere might have already had some 25+ HR seasons.
But they let this park get into their heads, and that is something I cannot abide.
Be professional, like your predecessors were.
These guys... these last 5 years...? who knows.
