As everyone here knows, until the trade deadline, I was not a fan of Farhan.
And though Randy will and does disagree, I liked EVERYTHING Farhan did at the deadline, in particular, picking up Gennet and Dubon.
But literally, every move EXCEPT the Dubon trade, has blown up in Farhan's face, and I feel sorry for him for that.
They were good, solid, moves.
1stly, the bullpen didn't hold up as he anticipated and, across the board imploded.
Watson lead the way, with Moronta right behind, and Smith's terrible outtings a close third.
2nd-The core players upon whom he counted, outside of Longoria, Posey, Crawford, Belt, stunk up the planet. And instead of them leading the team's offensive charge, they were pretty much the cause of its decline.
3rd-The starting staff, in particular, Beede and Anderson and Rodriguez, went from bad to worse, not holding up their end at all.
So instead of being remembered for making moves that kept us in contention, and helped us for the future...he'll be remembered for NOT trading Bum, which I'm glad he didn't do, nor Smith, which I wouldn't have done, either.
Sad.
Very sad.
