I know what Dickerson did for us when first called up, and Slater, too.
But I'm not sure the front office is sold on either of them.
In Dickerson's case, since he came back from the IL, he's not only NOT been the same, he hasn't been very good.
Then there is the problem with his back, which doesn't seem like something that will ever go away.
Defensively, he's average to below average. I'm leaning towards below average.
I love Slater's versatility, and ability to get on base, but with his re tooled swing, I expected more power. Not 30 HR power, but more than 4 HR power.
Defensively, he's okay, and not much more.
Mini-Yaz continues to amaze me. I can't think of ANY Giant player who barrels up more balls that Mini-Yaz.
He has put to shame a ton of our veterans; Posey, Crawford, and Belt in particular.
All that without knowing or being familiar with, the pitchers he faces.
Duggar. I wasn't impressed with his ability to go back on balls, and after watching him earlier this year, nothing has changed my opinion of him.
Pillar isn't just a LITTLE better, he's a LOT better.
I like Joey Rickard a lot. Not a power guy, but he knows how to hit.
bottom line; we've improved in the OF, but we have a ways to go.

I agree, Boly. Zaidi has done a solid job of upgrading the outfield, but is it an outfield that a contender would have? For next year I’d like to see them add a solid power hitting corner outfielder and my number one choice is soon to be free agent Nick Castellanos. Put him in left with Pillar in center and Yaz in right (with Slater starting against tough lefties) and I think you’re set. And he’s only 27! Don’t get outbid for him.

Nick impressed me, too, Mark.
I sure hope we can re sign Pillar. He's the Bumgarner of the starting 8!
A tough, tough guy who simply won't quit.
Don't like his penchant for chasing anything thrown near the plate, but he can play CF for me ANYTIME!
And he's a light year better than Duggar in CF.

I like Rickard as a 5th outfielder, and I'd love to Jaylin Davis given a shot now that we're out of things.
