A case can no longer be made for running Rodriguez out there again this season, unless someone is hurt and we're desperate for a starter.
I don't know what the reason(s) is/are for his total lack of command, but he simply doesn't deserve another start.
Prior to him getting lit up last night, he was getting away with pitches up and in the heart of the strike zone.
I loved him last year, the way he worked the top AND bottom of the zone.
This year, he doesn't seem to be able to do that.
Heck, even his change ups, are UP and fat, for the most part.
I'd rather see Menez get lit up and learn than have to watch Derek struggle with command even one more time.
Sad.
Last year, I thought he had a bright future
Maybe next year. At least I hope so.

Heres the case Boly...what better options are there? And keep in mind minor league starters haven't built their arm strength to pitch past August

I'm not big on Menez but even if I was, the Giants are not going to use minor leaguers as full time starters in september

Menez has spotty control but has strikeout stuff...I dont care which month it is...I don't wanna see DRod pitching again unless its a blowout and hes coming out of the pen

I'm with Mordy on this one, Randy. ANYONE but Rodriguez at this point.
And I liked what I saw from Menez in his first start. I'd like to see more.
I've seen enough of Derek this year.
Next year, I'll want to see him again to see what adjustments he's made.

There was a time when both of you were in the Anybody But Samardzija camp

There was a time when both of you were in the Anybody But Samardzija camp and I was wrong...having said that, I would still love to have him traded while his value has increased bec we both know it is too good to last( at least I do)

I think you all have forgotten who will replace Dreck (spelled correctly) Rodriguez in the rotation. We have a kid at Sacramento by the name of Cueto who will be promoted after his next start. And yes I know it’s too late to save our season, but I can’t wait to see him out there again!

I was wrong about Jeffy, too, Randy.
But here's the one huge difference: I never, ever wanted Rodriguez traded.
I just don't want to seem him again this year, and I said that.
We have other options.
I'd rather he go to the bullpen, go home after the season, and work out what's wrong.
I predicted what happened to both him and Suarez, but I'm certainly NOT happy about it.
I like both of them.
Next year, my fingers are crossed, I hope will be different.

That's what I thought, too, Mordy.
Beaten up by the pathetic Padres.
where is their pride?
Where is their professionalism?
Where is their "Let's win this for Bochy" mantra.
Like the title of that old Clark Gable movies, I guess: "Gone With The Wind."

I thought Jeff battled hard on a day he didn’t have his good stuff and deserved a better fate. That dopey play by Longoria opened the floodgates and it was Abad who gave up the big homerun.

All of what you said is/was true, Mark, but let's face facts: This was not the Jeffy we've seen all year.
He was bad. He didn't have his good stuff, and he was hit hard and hard often.
