Everybody else can get off decent at bats regardless of the speed except you

Posey is done. Vogt came off the bench and ripped an RBI double last night. This is the reason Bochy is “retiring.” He doesn’t have the heart to make tough decisions. I’m not even sure Posey should start over Aramis Garcia at this point, let alone Vogt. And when Bart gets here? Four hits including a homerun last night. Imagine him sitting on the bench for two years because Bochy can’t bring himself to bench Posey.

His defense, in particular, his throwing, are very, very good, as evidenced, again, last night.
But offensively...he simply doesn't deserve to be in the line up, and I really don't understand why Bochy continues to run him out there.
It's almost as if he's being stubborn with his recent comment, "We'll win with the guys we have out there."
Thing is, Bruce, you're not winning with the guys out there.
What I'd like to see in September is this:
Shaw at 1B
Dubon at SS
Avelino at 2B
Jaylin SOMEWHERE in the OF
Anyone but Posey behind the plate.

Geeze Boly really? None of us are happy with what Posey has produced in recent years...but physically ill? Have you forgotten all the greatness he has provided in his time? I could name his credentials but im sure you know them. At the very least those memories should settle your stonach.

I could name his credentials but im sure you know them. At the very least those memories should settle your stonach. Posey is my 2nd all time favorite Giant after Will the thrill...Not only do I appreciate all that he accomplished as a SF Giant, including what he meant to us during that amazing run of 3 WS rings in 5 years, but he has been an Ambassador to the game with his humble personality and his all around attitude..He seems to be an awesome family man and his class is unmatched in all of baseball as far as I'm concerned.....Lets not forget though that he was and is very well compensated for his achievements...It does pain me to watch his at bats...It does concern me when he flails at pitches that are way out of the zone, seemingly in an attempt to catch up with fastballs that have past him by...His at-bats are hurting the team, and thats a fact...I can certainly give him a pass because he is a year away from hip surgery that im sure has sapped his power...BUT if things don;t change over this off season, I would love to have him take the Andrew Luck approach and just retire from the game...We know that the concussions are a concern to him and his family ( as it should be) and he should take the gracious approach and retire...It hurts me to type this, but not as much as watching his at-bats!!!

I appreciate ALL that he has done for us, and so much more.
He was never a favorite of mine, but I still admired what he could do.
But I do NOT give him a pass just based upon his history.
We've now had 3+ years of declining proficiency, and that shouldn't be happening at his age.
I didn't give Willie Mays a pass.
I've seen Buster take full extension swings, so I've seen that he's not suffering in that respect.
But that's not my main issue with him, Mordy.
It's the balls he chases...way out of the strike zone.
It's the balls he TAKES right down the gut.
It's his slapping at the baseball way too often.
By comparison, consider this:
Willie Mays was my all time favorite, and watching his at bats his last few years, made me sick to my stomach too.
Also, Brandon Crawford and Joe Panik were long time favorites.
In Brandon's case, I've watched him balloon up, and I've said so.
His at bats are disgustingly bad.
Joe suffered from a concussion, and I could see right off, he was never the same.
Now if that's true of Buster, I'll back off on him.
Likely I wouldn't feel this way at all... IF Bochy wouldn't continually hit him up in the line up.

I'm not saying Buster deserves a pass. I'm just saying..."makes me sick?" That's off the deep end. I'd venture to guess Mays never made you ill and he has 3 less rings (in SF) than Buster

He reminds you of Dusty? Nope, he’s the same old Bochy. The one who wouldn’t bench Bengie Molina to play Posey when Buster first came up. Posey was alternating between first base and the bench while Bengie caught every day. Under a different manager Bengie could have stayed in SF and been a valuable backup and mentor to Posey, but under this one, Sabean had no choice but to trade him so Posey could play. I’ll miss Bochy the person, but Bochy the manager? Not so much. Looking forward to a stats geek manager that buries his face in his computer, wears thick glasses and has a pocket protector, if only just to piss Randy off!

Just like it was painful watching Mays at the end of his career.
But here's the big difference.
Buster is 30, not 37+ as it was for Willie.

Bottom line is this, Mark; both Dusty and Bochy stood in the way of kids playing.
That's the comparison I was making.
And I don't believe you'll find Randy and me sharing your enthusiasm for a cybermetrics geek.
Not a chance.
Another Green, from SD, who doesn't know his up from his down, or a puppet like Dave Roberts in LA?
That is so not going to be fun for us.
