I don't care how hard or how soft a guy throws, if you're planning to win your team CANNOT swing through and/or foul off, by my unofficial count, over 14 center cut fastballs right down the middle of the strike zone.
You can't.
Not if you plan on winning.
And evidently, we didn't plan on winning.

You really don't get hyperbole, do you Rog?
You've been reading my posts for... what, 10..20 years now?
of course they planned on winning.
But when you swing through or foul off 13+ pitches down the heart of the plate, you have no excuses.
That wasn't just a failure to execute, that was a humiliating, half assed attempt.

So what you meant was that the Giants can't count on winning when they miss that many hittable pitches. That is certainly true.
Now, when you put down their attempt, were you saying that the results weren't acceptable (which they certainly weren't), or that they didn't put in enough effort?

One thing to remember is that Hendricks now has the same 3.09 career ERA as Madison Bumgarner -- and that his ERA this season is more than half a run lower than Madison's. He's been called a poor man's Greg Maddux, and his career ERA is actually just lower than Greg's.
The Giants aren't the only team he fools, although he has been tougher on them than most teams.
