Well, we all know the Bochy myth in that he knows how to use a bullpen but wth hell is he thinking bringing Abbad and Suarez into this close of a game that is so damn crucial...I get that Beede didnt go deep into the game that kinda left his hands tied but Suarez? Geez...Id let Coonrad pitch until his arm fell off...and what the hell is this Posey batting 3rd bullshit? How many more times do we have to see weak ground balls to the left side of the infield?? Man am I disgusted...

I don't and didn't get it either, Mordy.
I had no problem with Abad, but Suarez?
That was strange, bordering on STUPID.
He has regressed so far, that he struggles to throw strikes, much less quality strikes.
If we truly are to have ANY chance at all, bring in Gott for an inning after Abad.
It's one game at a time, you can't be managing with your eyes on tomorrow, which seemed to be the case last night.
And also, I blame/fault Posey for Rizzo's first home run.
Where is his "hot" zone?
Down and in.
Where did he set up for the fastball?
Down and in.
What in the heck was HE thinking?

It is apparent the game has passed you by, Randy. That's a shame.

Because Randy doesn't buy into all of the cybermetric stuff, Rog, the game has passed him by?
I don't think so, because if that's true, it's passed me by, too.

No, the game has passed him by because he either doesn't keep up with it, or he doesn't understand what he comes across.
A person who says that if the computer says to do it, Farhan will, doesn't know much about Farhan.
Does anyone here read what Randy posts? His modus operandi is to make unfounded claims, many if not most of them off the wall, with virtually no verification.
There was a time when I thought Randy knew a little about the game. Apparently he's forgotten.

Here is what Randy has said on this thread: "You forget one think Mordy. Bochy no longer manages...hasn't all season" "If the computer says do it, Fargeek will do it." And the latter was after Mordy responded to him "I cant imagine FZ being stupid enough to pitch Suarez there...Bochy yes. but Farhan? No way in hell!!!" Mordy told Randy flat-out that the move sounded more like Bochy than Farhan, but Randy had to come back with another lame-brained comment to back up his first. Randy doesn't know how Farhan thinks, in part because Farhan is so much smarter than Randy that Randy couldn't understand all of Farhan's thinking. In addition, Randy pooh-pooh's much of the factual basis for Farhan's thoughts without having the understanding to do so. Randy's ridiculous icon is mostly a defense mechanism, trying to cover how little he actually thinks. As I said, I used to respect Randy once upon a time. But the way he posts seems to indicate that if he dived into the pool of his own knowledge, he would be seriously endangering himself. Did you honestly think Randy contributed anything to this thread, Boly? It's not that he doesn't agree; it's that he doesn't seem to understand. Now, Mordy is a guy who posts with his emotions on his sleeve. But his posts indicate both some knowledge and some thoughtfulness. Is that what we see with Randy? Feel free to defend yourself here, Randy. I'd LOVE to see some facts, analysis and logic from you. You know what guys, maybe rog is right and the game has passed me by so i wont bother you with my antiquated view of baseball. I know this...if holding on to the game as i grew up loving it is wrong, I don't want to be right. Have fun following the numbers. I'll try to enjoy the actual play on the field as long as I can. If you want to reach me directly, email me at randzamora66@gmail.com.
Love you guys

if holding on to the game as i grew up loving it is wrong, I don't want to be right. Rog -- You SHOULD hold onto the game you grew up loving, Randy. But shouldn't you also try to keep up with the new and improved game (in terms of improved play quality, although perhaps not as much to your liking)? I’ve had this discussion with Randy before, and he’ll never change, so I’m not trying again. Zaidi is not sitting on a computer during the game sending moves down to Bochy, and neither is any other GM in baseball. In this modern system the GM helps with lineup and bullpen construction with regard to defining roles, but once the game starts, the moves are all made by the manager. So blame Zaidi for providing a pitcher who is literally “Abad” player, (I make bad jokes so you don’t have to!) but blame Bochy for bringing him in when he does. The one mistake Zaidi made was that he thought he had enough relievers at the deadline to trade a couple of them and still compete. He was wrong. However for the long term it was still the right move. Dubon is up already and Jaylin Davis will soon follow. The pitchers he acquired have looked good in the minors. Zaidi has quickly turned the worst farm system in all of baseball into one that’s about middle of the pack. Couple of more years and it could be elite.

Indeed, Mark that is precisely what Zaidi has done, and he deserves a big hug, and lots of praise for what he's done.

Yes the manager does make in game calls but an overreaching gm can make it clear what he wants to see done in just about every situation and deviating from it could have consequences

Fair enough, Randy, but I’m going to guess Zaidi gives Bochy a lot more freedom than he’ll give his hand picked successor next year, and since Bochy is gone after this year and Zaidi wouldn’t have the nerve to fire him, I’m pretty sure Bruce would tell Zaidi where to put his computer when they disagree. That being said, everything points to them having a great relationship,

Agree, Mark, with everything except the last part where they have a "great" relationship.
A ton of stuff coming from Bochy's mouth tells me that they don't see eye-to-eye on a LOT of stuff.
He says the politically correct stuff so as not to let anyone know what's really going on... and that's a credit to Boch.
Me? I wouldn't be so nice, especially if I were a lame duck as Boch is.
