Candlestick is far better known for its cold, windy and foggy conditions than for beautiful weather, but today marks the 35th anniversary of the most beautiful day I ever saw there. One of the last scheduled double headers there too.
The beauty was that the Giants scheduled the first game to start at right around 10:30 IIRC. The way the sun hit the field at that hour on that particular day was fabulous. Virtually no wind either. It would have been quite inconvenient, but weather-wise, perhaps that is when the Giants should have scheduled all their games.
Spectacular day that I'll never forget.
