Very nice comeback win for the Giants Tuesday night, with Joe Panik's single providing the game-winner. The game reminded me of the 9th inning of Game 4 of the 2016 NLCS in that balls kept finding holes. Nevertheless, it was one of the season's most exciting games.
Both Panik and Brandon Belt have bounced back a bit this season. Nothing radical, but they have shown they are healthy after concussions, and their trade value should be a bit higher than it was.
The Giants' five primary starting pitchers have yielded 47 homers already in just 231 innings. That's a home run rate of nearly 1.8 per nine innings. The National League average is 1.26, so the Giants' rate is even higher than the league record average, by about 40%.
Their five primary relievers have allowed only 7 homers in 103.1 innings. That's a fine rate of about 0.8. The Giants' overall team average is 1.4 homers per nine innings. Their 68 homers allowed as a team is just 13th-best in the National League, which given their home park is poor performance.
